Android 4.4.1 - Imminent (ITS LIVE-post #23)

Well, it was a bit trickier than I thought to install because I kept getting status 7 errors saying that my system/bin/android-process folder had unknown contents. So I reflashed the system.img file from the factory image and then the sideload worked perfectly. I had to reroot because of this, which took all of 2 minutes. Up and running on 4.4.1 though.

Edit 1:Camera speed is A LOT better. Regular photos snap practically instantly, hdr+ photos take roughly 1 second now.

Edit 2:It does patch a new radio file updating it from .17 to .23 and include a new bootloader. So those looking to reroot using CF Auto-Root will have to comment on whether it still works

A faster camera would be nice, more accurate wifi signal reporting, and maybe something to turn down how much juice the mobile data radios use while connected to wifi. With mobile data enabled and connected to wifi, I lose 5% per hour of standby whereas with it off it's less than 1% per hour.

that isn't normal. i never charge my phone over night and leave it connected to WiFi, and will lose 1-3% battery overnight, it looses slightly more if it isn;t on WiFi and on LTE

I'm am NOT rooted and still no update showing for me yet.

Again, if you are waiting for rollout, it may take time. It may be tonight, it may be 3 days from now, it may be a week. I have gotten the feeling, but don't know, that they may do a small rollout, wait a bit to make sure there are no SNAFUs and then continue the rollout. It will come.

OTAs roll out over a few weeks, randomly picked in a lottery by your device ID.

If you want it now, you'll have to adb sideload it. If you need help with that we can provide directions and answer questions

Oh I know. When they roll it out, they roll it out.

I've updated my phone to 4.4.1, but now SuperSU doesn't seem to work. I've downloaded the zip file to the phone to flash, but when I try to boot into recovery mode I see an android robot with a red triangle on its chest.

What does this mean? Can anyone help?

The phone says andriod has been updated as the android version is now 4.4.1

Thanks

As one always in my advanced age wanting to learn new things, I would appreciate directions as how to do this task :)
