I am new to T-Mobile using the $30 pre paid method.
My account says that I have a hot spot limit of 100mb and that I have use 28mb. The thing is that I don't use the hot spot.
The only thing that I can think of is that my Google voice account maybe eating away at the 100mb.
I only use the Google voice account on my home phone and have it forwarded to my N5.

Phone calls, whether coming directly into your phone number or fiorwarded by Google, are 2G - voice - not data. If you're using some non-standard software for data, they may count that as hotspot usage, since the only way they can tell that you're using the hotspot is that the software using your data isn't phone software. (IOW, if your browser is set to claim that it's IE, it's probably a computer connected to your phone. Even if it's siome phone browser that can be set to do that.)

Talk to the billing department. If you get nowhere, ask to be transferred to the tech department.

Thanks.
I wonder if some how by me transferring files between my N5 and PC could be doing it.
I have to investigate some more and also call the billing department.

Hey I just signed on with T-Mobile, but I noticed that the tether is a pain. Is there a workaround to get more than 2.5 GB in tethering?

Do a search. Here is one: http://androidforums.com/t-mobile/781861-undetected-tethering-t-mobile.html

Check this out: android-wifi-tether - Wireless Tether for Root Users - Google Project Hosting

You need your phone to be root. If you are on 4.3 of Android n above, you are SOL.

Try this and let us know: http://www.technibility.com/how-to-tether-your-android-on-t-mobile-without-a-tether-plan/
