Help 4.3 Problem or something else? Help!

Hi everyone!

My girlfriend updated her Galaxy Note 2 a few days ago to the 4.3 software version. Since then, we've had major problems with the phone. First of all, when I call her, it sometimes goes directly to her voicemail and she never receives any missed call. Secondly, she does not receive every text messages right away. It sometimes takes a while and she receives them all at once. AND FINALLY, the worse problem is, HER TEXT NOTIFICATIONS! When the text does get through, there is no notification, nor any sounds, vibration or LED notification light. She has to go in the message application every time to check if she received anything new. I checked her settings and the notifications are turned on already. I wonder if this is an update problem, but we really don't know how to fix this. We really need help!

Have you tried rebooting?

If rebooting didn't help, try booting into safe mode.

If problem still persists in safe mode, check with the carrier to see if they are experiencing any network issue. Also maybe try another SIM card and see if the problem still exists.

If it works properly after trying another SIM, then it's most likely the SIM card that went bad.

However, if the problem is still persistent, then you better make sure a proper backup is done. Then do a factory reset back to defaults. Generally after an update, something might go wrong with system files that cause issues. Either corruption, old files not being purged, remnants, etc.

Unfortunately, a factory reset will wipe everything off the device. So make sure you make backups before doing this.

Thanks! I was able to fix the text notification problems by deleting a few apps here and there (that included text messaging). However, some texts still do not get through... When I text my girlfriend, my phone says the text has been sent, she, however, do not always receive them all...

I read on another site that some people have been getting issues with their SIGNAL after updating to 4.3 (with the Note 2), would that be the problem? If yes, how do I fix it?

Did the other site offer any suggestions that you can try? Unfortunately, you may need to resort to a factory reset. In most cases, it usually fixes any issues post update. The only drawback is you need to set the device up again.
