Why can't I find my apps or my trashcan? How can I use my SD card!?

Android Question

I'm at a loss and really hate this phone. It refuses to use the SD card, The phone keeps telling me I'm out of storage and I've dumped virtually everything off of it. I cannot even find the trash and I can't figure out how to sync it to my computer. All I could manage to do was save the pictures, and it IS optioned as a media device.

Minecraft disappeared... my sons favorite app.. and I paid for it. I can't even begin to figure out how to find it much less how to restore it. I could reinstall the app.. but of course, that would not matter anyway because it errors out when I try, telling me that I don't have enough room. Apps are disappearing that I don't even delete.

I have no clue how to use this phone. I came to android from apple and I really AM ready to set it on fire.

Anyone?

We don't know which phone, so ...

There are different kinds of storage in Android. You probably are out of internal storage.

and I've dumped virtually everything off of it.
Off your SD card? That won't make any difference. Out of internal storage? Videos, pictures, music, apps you don't use ...

I cannot even find the trash
There's no "Trash". When you delete a file, be it a picture or an app, it's deleted. Gone.

and I can't figure out how to sync it to my computer.
That depends on what you mean by "sync". There are apps, app data, pictures and videos, music, texts, email - they all "sync" differently. There's no "Android-Tunes" program.

Go to the Play store and install it to the same phone again. They have a record that it's paid for for that phone.

You bought a quart bottle, and you're trying to keep a gallon of milk in it - it doesn't work. Store less or get a larger phone.

I came to android from apple
We knew that as soon as you talked about syncing your phone. This is an Android phone, not an iPhone. If you keep trying to use it like an iPhone, all you'll get is frustration.

iPhones are all the same. Some are faster, some slower, some have more storage, some less, but they're all the same, and all iPhone apps work the same way. (They have to - Apple insists on it.) Android apps are developed by people who want to develop Android apps - any way they want to develop them. Even if the official site won't accept the app, it's still written and people still use it.

iPhone is "stiff-upper-lip" Edinborough Castle in the 1880s, with everyone doing his best to follow the proper protocol, Android is Wyoming Territory at the same time. The law hasn't yet figured out that there is a place called Wyoming.

If you want a phone that does everything for you, and in the same way every time, stick with iPhones. Androids don't work like that.
