New to forum...be gentle.
Just over a week with new Nexus 5.Has occasional issue with the voice call audio, where the listener says my voice gets garbled.Anyone else met with this?
I'm with Vodafone UK.I had no issues with Vodafone and my previous phone(GOOGLE GALAXY NEXUS)
Is this anything to do with the phone case?
Have REARTH RINGKE and SPIGEN snap on hard cases.Happened with both.
Its not there always and the few calls I made without the case were OK.But as I said it doesn't happen all the time and just want to know whether it's a problem with phone or the case.
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forums!! :D

My first thoughts would be that the case may be partially blocking or hindering the sound to your microphone when speaking, or could be interfering with the other microphones that try to pick up and cancel out the ambient noise around you.

I would try to place a few calls without it (get a decent number in since you say it doesn't always happen) and try to figure out for sure if its the case

I have been told that I am difficult to hear or sound very muffled, as well. I don't have a case.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I've occasionally had people complain that the call suddenly sounds muffled then after a few seconds goes back to normal, although this hasn't happened in the last couple of weeks. I'm on Vodafone UK as well if that's relevant.

I have a tendancy to hold the phone near the base and I wonder if I occasionally partially cover the microphone without realising. The other possibility is that when the problem has happened there was some background noise (traffic noise or me playing rock music) and the noise cancelling might have gone awry.

After installing 4.4.2 and factory reset last night, the problem hasn't recurred:D.With or without cover. But its just a day and a few calls. I've to wait and see.
I'm also with Vodafone UK.Interestingly, Vodafone itself doesn't sell the handset in UK.Would this be because they'd found any incompatibility between the network and phone???
By the way, where exactly is the microphone located in Nexus 5??

Hi all,
I've almost arrived at the conclusion that it was one of the call recorder apps which I'd installed (and removed soon as it was useless).Probably, it could have left a footprint.
Problem persisted even after 4.4.2 update but my Factory reset must have wiped it completely, and I'm trouble free for past 48 hours.:D
Listeners said ,my voice sounded weird like the party prank "helium talk"
Have you any call recorder apps installed?
