Anyone porting 4.4 to the Evo?

To be fair Google is claiming KitKat is more streamlined so it'll run smooth even on old devices. There's been talk of porting it to the nexus S.

YES please. 4.2 is the most i've tried (DU-Shooter, works fairly well..). It'd be nice if someone could make a rom specifically for VM..

After installing I have to say im loving 4.4. So much I may just go buy a new phone so i can use all the features right now! It runs smooth and has a nice face lift on the interface. Only issues ive had other than no data is there's a bug with the built in browser that causes a black screen to appear. I fixed it by just downloading a different browser. Also USB mounting doesn't seem to be working. Camera works fine and it even fixed a problem i was having with hangouts. If data was fixed i could defiantly use this as a daily driver!

Mazda posted on xda that he will soon be posting the 4.4 aokp version. Showed a pic of it on his evo 3d. I don't know if he has data on it yet though.

And dastin posted that he had cm11 working with data also. He is just waiting to get SD card mounting working before posting.

Dastin had posted his. Data is working on it. Only issues I have seen so far are that playing a video causes a reboot.

I've ran an unofficial CM11 port of Dastin's, its over on XDA. On my VM CDMA phone it works awesome, but I can't text (may be an APN issue) and others have reported issues with video.

I am watching that thread eagerly, because even with SMS goofed up, it runs amazingly well. Soon as I get a fix for SMS I'm switching to it.

And move APN backup and restore to system/ priv-app it'll work on 4.4

I'm getting FC with the message app, changing my APN isn't going to help; I've already updated it and tried, still no go.

I've played a bit with 4.4.2 Gapps with limited succes, still get FCs half the time.

No problems with messaging here, but I did have a bunch of fc, until I flashed a core gapps package.

Now the only issue I have is YouTube and random videos... Recorded videos play fine with vplayer
