Root [Boost Mobile] what would you do?

Depends on how your current carrier's coverage is where you need coverage, how Verizon's coverage is where you need coverage and what your current carrier and Verizon charge for the plans you want. Choice of phone is about #4 on the list of what you look at in choosing cellphone service. The most fantastic phone in the world, totally free, that doesn't give you coverage where and when you need it, is a useless paper weight in your pocket.

I got a chance to switch to Verizon and get the lg g2 . would you guys do it

Oh my God, jump on it! The LG G2, in my opinion, is the best phone out there right now. Would love to hear about it from a user I trust who has first hand experience. Unlike my buddy mydian, I think the buttons on the back is such an intuitive feature, based on how I hold the phone and interact with it, plus the thing just seems so freaking sick in general. He has a good point about the cost though, don't break the bank jumping ship. I have personally probably saved over a thousand dollars since joining Virgin Mobile, even if you factor in the cost of purchasing a device (or three) outright. For those who can wait, I suspect this will be coming our way once it has run its course on the major carriers, just like the SGS3 we all currently love so much!

It like 150 for two lines. Not much difference

I'm paying $80 for 2 lines.. that's a huge difference! ;)

The Prevail I have is grandfathered. If the wife chooses to activate it again once she learns to use it better, her mthly pymt will stay $35 like it is with her Juno & mine is $40 with my S3. Two lines, $75 unlimited everything. It's like trying to outrun a rabbit on crack....... You just can't beat it. :D

One thing is a fact. Has been and will be for awhile to come. Sprint/Boost/VM are always running behind on the coverage areas and now, 4G. It is what it is. I've been with Boost for 4 years now. Maybe longer. They've always taken their own sweet time upgrading their towers and now since 4G,they're taking their own sweet time getting it to all their areas. It is what it is and I've accepted it....... For those "just in case moments" like a bad sand storm or they're doing tower work or having tower issues, whatever the issue, I've bought a magic jack. $49.95 for the ethernet/USB jack plus 6 months of service. 5 year plan at $19.95 a year including full warranty for $107 and some change. Rounded up, I've got a home phone for 5 years with full warranty for $157 which includes voice mail, call forwarding and unlimited long distance calling within the continental United States. It's like trying to outrun that rabbit on crack again.......... :D LMAO! :D:p:D:p:thumbup:

Yeah yeah, I know..... I could use Google Voice or one of the other wifi apps for my phone. Decided against it. I like having a cordless phone with an answering service built in. I use that sucker all the time too. It's nice. Meeeee likeeeee. And when it really all boils down to it, if the wife and I are happy, who cares. Right?

Yeah don't get me wrong. I love boost. The only reason I'm thinking of switching. To make a long story short. My daughter wants a phone for Christmas. And she wants the gs3 like me. And my wife has Verizon I can get on her line for 40 bucks a month. That would make her bill around 150. And I can get the g2 fo 199 with a mail in rebate of 100 so 100 for the g2 good deal huh? I'm just really trying to convince myself. And I don't trust my daughter with a contract phone

I think that is solid reasoning my friend. You just have to stay semi-active in this forum if you switch so we can stay up to speed with you! I'm telling you, it is selfish, but I would also love to hear impressions on the G2 from someone I trust who has recently used the SGS3.

Bro, it all boils down to what's going to make you and your family happy. PERIOD. If the cost really isn't an issue and that's the plan and phones that you and your family want, then I say go for it.

I would definitely give the daughter/plan deal some serious thought since you're already thinking about it. :D A plan is a plan. ;)

Do your research and make an educated decision. If the shoes fit then wear the treads off of them bro. ONE thing is a definite, Verizon coverage is great. At least it has been for just about everyone I know who uses their service. My step-daughter and her family use Verizon. It's not cheap but she vary rarely goes anywhere she can't get a signal. One exception.... she and my wife took a trip to Iowa. Her signal went in and out quite a bit up there. Dude, it was Iowa. Rural Iowa at that. LOL. :p

Seriously though, do what is gonna make you guys happy. We only live once bro. As I mentioned above, make sure you do your homework before you sign the contract. A plan is a plan and probably a 2yr deal too, right?

I'm with Struckn too. Do us a favor if you do decide to switch. I want to hear about all the G2 myself.

Peace.

I think I'm gonna flash either CM11 or Beanstalk. Might as well. :D

And I also love this forum. I feel like I'm in the prevail forums of way back. You guys give great support and info without putting any body down like other places. And if I do best believe I will post. It won't be for a week or do any way

I agree with you bro.

This S3 section has an awesome members base. Notice I didn't say Boost S3 section like I have in the past.

This has turned into a joint Boost/VM venture and all the help/advice/ROMs/MOds/etc are greatly appreciated. :)

I'm on the same boat and plus I got the International connect during the promotion for $5 which I use it to call my family in overseas. So $45 unlimited everything including International calls is unheard of! As much as I want the latest and the greatest phone but can't beat the monthly phone bill. :D

Ever since my first ever smartphone, Prevail, this forum and Xda is my daily newspaper! Maybe it's the Boost/VM folks but you guys are like my 2nd family! Alright, Sprint folks too! :D
