Root For those looking for themes

Really? Everything was in Chinese??? Odd... that didn't happen for me.

I probably didn't download the good thing, I searched for 91 Panda on the market and there were two results, one being a firewall... I downloaded the other, but now that I think of it, it was called "91 Panda Reader".

And everything was in Chinese, so I couldn't even see what it did.

My bad... it's actually called "PandaHome" here's a market link:

market://search?q=pname:com.nd.android.pandahome

Yeah, I have to admit I like it.

You can pretty much turn everything you don't like off, and you can add as many screens as you want, plus auto rotate on the homescreen.

I have yet to mess around with themes, but thanks for sharing! :D

EDIT: I still like it. Being a fan of sliding unlock screens, I changed mine to the iPhone one (android 2.x would be even better), and I have yet to see a problem. I did notice one drawback with PandaHome though: my camera button doesn't work anymore (to open the camera app). It does work in the application, but now I have to use a shortcut. I guess it's a good thing for those who had trouble with sleeping because of that said button. I turned a lot of stuff off, but it's a great free apps. I'll look for themes tomorrow and edit again.

Hello!
I like pandahome, because of all the settings you have. But it slows my phone down alot! And thats why I started searching the net for easy, low weight homescreen and i found HelixLauncher Donut (Last download!). My phone works even faster, than it does on original 1.6 android home! I think it is worth trying it! I just wished someone told me long ago about HelixLauncher!

I've checked out HelixLauncher and it's awsome. Note sure if it's faster than normal 1.6 launcher but it's working great. Love the screen shortcut on double tap....

Yes helix launcher is great. But (at least on latest galaxo) it slows the phone quite a lot. I guess it is because Galaxo Advanced Launcher is tweaked to stay in ram all the time.

Any Idea how to replace Advanced Launcher with Helix?

I have tried today Home++ because advancedlauncher doesn't work on gaosp, and it's a great complement to my phone. I didn't test Helixlauncher, but home++ looks like it, or seems that does the same things. Somebody who tested both can tell wich launcher are the best?

ive tried both and tbh home++ uses more resources but i feel has slightly better functionality than helixlauncher
advanced launcher has better overall controll but comparing home++ and helix is a hard one as they both have different merits

i dont know what to pick

I uninstalled PandaHome because I couldn't open the notification area at the top of the screen, but now that I think about it, it was probably caused by the new unlock screen I downloaded with it.

Anyway, I decided to give HelixLauncher a go, but I can't get it to work. When the download starts (I've followed both links already posted), it says that the content is not supported on the phone, no idea why.

I'm using JC6, no galaxo yet.

if you have a lock screen it messes with the notification bar, quick fix is to press the home button and it will refresh it and start working.

as for the "content not supported" this is because you are downloading straight to your phone and its a "get style link"
download it and push it to the device via usb

Thanks, I' such an idiot sometimes.

I like being able to put some shortcuts down there, but I don't like having to press the back button everytime I want to exit the "app launcher". Or is there something I'm missing out? I'm not a fan of the rotating home screen either, so I had to turn this off (and double clicking, it's faster just to change screens IMO).

If I could slide the application drawer back down it'd be a real keeper, right now I'm trying to get used to using the back button...
