Hmm, good point, but would it then be giving it a "USB" charge as opposed to a "plug" charge?

Si long as you've got a good current source...the charger definitely qualifies...you're good to go. Same thing if you're using a powered USB hub, but not quite as good.

You won't get a charge off of a straight USB port. Not enough current.

It is either 5V 1 amp or 5V 1.5 amp. I guess it matters if you are taking the phone into your car just to charge it quickly and not to use it.

I don't intend to solely charge my phone in the car. However I'd like a good charger for my car. Also, if I will be using the navigation, I want a charger that will actually manage to charge the phone while using navigation. I had read on the nexus one forum that some chargers didn't give it enough charge and that the battery would deplete regardless of being plugged in.

I'm guessing the car charger for the Motorola Droid will work with this, correct? I have the OEM one (Moto branded), so it'll save me some $ if I don't need to get another one.

It should work fine. That's the good thing about Micro USB, it's not brand specific. It's becoming the industry standard but I'd like it better if it were a little easier to plug in.

It should. I've had it in my car for awhile and intend to use it to charge my incredible. For less than $10 shipped, I got a charging set up for BOTH cars.

I have an old env2 car charger that IS micro USB and DOES NOT work for the Incredible. Has anyone purchased a non-branded/non-verizon car charger that works for the Incredible and from where?

i can't confirm this but when i got my incredible i still had i droid that i was about to return to get my wife an incredible and the 2 ports on the phones looked different. i remember thinking that but i don't know for sure.
