What exactly is the purpose of this forum?

I was under the impression it was for Q and A regarding various Android software. But I see it has now become a place for vendors to simply post ads for their games, etc. which is basically the same as spam.

What do the mods think?

Watch how long the "ads" remain. Threads which are announcing/advertising apps, rather than discussions, will get moved to the App/Game Announcements section. Stuff that crosses the line and is judged to be spamming will be treated accordingly.

If you think a thread or post does not belong here, just report it and say why.

I used to not want to report things but if its spoiling OUR site then just report it and let them take their spam elsewhere :beer:

As a former Guide I'm very quick-fire with the report button.

There's no problem with reporting stuff like misplaced posts. The Mods and Guides can't be everywhere all the time, so it's helping them out if you let them know when you spot something that's in the wrong place (or shouldn't be there at all).

We NEVER want to "become a place for vendors to simply post ads for their games" and employ a very large staff tasked at preventing just that. App and game announcement is the only place that sort of marketing belongs here and even there, we have specific rules to keep things to a dull roar. If you see any marking outside this area or if you see anyone getting out of hand with multiple threads for the same project in that area? We ask you to report it and thank you in advance.

I try to keep a firm eye on this forum so that I can move vendors threads to the App & Game Announcement forums. So this should be a place for Questions and Queries regarding android applications.

When you see app promotions, pretty please click on the Report button. All you have to do is type in the box "wrong forum", and as soon as someone see's the report it will be moved to the App & Game Announcements forums.

There's quite a few of us who peruse this particular forum, so when we are online and catch them, we do move them.
