I thought android was one of the best os, i can only find one program to play xvids and the quality was terrible, kept freezing and slowing down. I came from n900 and playing an xvid or divx was so easy and quality was perfect, anyone know if there is better program for this out there as i can only find xyflash and from the info on the net this is ment to be the only program that can play these files.

I have been using yxflash on my LG Eve and Xperia X10 and it plays every format I have tried, Right now I have Avatar, Planet 51, Death Race and Gamer and they are Divx, AVI, Xvid and they all play with no issues at all. You have to make sure that there is not a ton of apps running in the background for it will cause it to shutter, and on smaller processor phones I would suggest something like Task Killer because there is a ton running that you do not see. Which version of yxflash did you use, there is version 1.3.2 that was just updated I think. But other than that I am not sure what other players are out there I know there is one called Meridian Video Player and another called AntPlayer and one last one called aPlayer, you can give some of those a try

I have installed yxflash but I have a problem with it. When I play a .avi file it is always abit "laggy". I mean the picture is not running smooth. If I play mpeg4 or h.264 files its no problem. It was like this on the trial and on the full version (keygen). I do use advanced task killer to free up mem.
Any tips would be deeply appreciated.

With the task killer have you shut down almost everything and tried it? The only time I have choppy play or laggy is if I have a lot of stuff running, I know the X10 has the new 1Ghz processor but this phone has a lot of stuff running, I downloaded Startup Auditor and turned off a lot of stuff on startup which helps out a great deal, If shutting down services does not fix it then I am not sure, Are you using the newest version? they just came out with a new one about a week ago version 1.2, I have both the 1.14 & 1.2 and the keygen to, if anyone needs it just message me there email and I can send it, it is a small app.

You may also want to try to update your video card drivers......LMAO....

I have just updated the phone with the software from SEs webpage. I have installed startup auditor and stopped a lot of stuff from startup. restarted the phone. I killed all prosseses and still .avi files is "laggy"..

I am using yxflash v1.3.5

What's the resolution of the AVI files, and how were they compressed? If the video size is too large or they aren't compressed in an efficient manner (files too big) the hardware may not be able to decode them fast enough.
