Root [T-Mobile] S4 lockscreen issue

Hey guys,

Been a while since ive been on, got the s4(awsome)rooted and every now and then upon waking my phone, when i swipe to unlock it, nothing happens..not even the lock icon shows up when i touch it...sometimes i have to shut the screen off and then back on again a couple times for it to work which is very annoying...it shows everything on the lock screen and i can swipe to my widgets(if i had put them on the lockscreen) but sometimes it just wont unlock it....does anybody have an idea why this phone is doing that and any solutions???......btw, im on the stock rom if that helps

18 views and no response?..im sure somebody out there knows whats wrong...maybe its just a stock rom issue? Anywayz, guess im on my own..putting a new rom on it might solve it.. dont really want to do that cuz i like everything on it, especially the abity to control my tv and cable..so anybody else having the same problem, ill kindly post a solution if and when i find one

Have you tried to set the lockscreen to swipe? It might be set to none...
Or maybe it is a stock problem.. I would say try to just wipe dalvik and cache and then see if that works. Then wipe data from lockscreen apk.
Factory reset or changing roms is always my last step.

What is the default unlock effect you have selected? I found that without Watercolor on my device wouldn't unlock as effectively as I wanted it to. Just something I discovered, might not be consistent with other devices.

Thanks for the input guys, ive got the swipe effect for the unlocking part...never thought about changing it to something different to see if it would help..ill try that and thanks for the tips. In your opinions, what is the best locking feature to use?

Slide with widgets and shortcuts. Camera as the widget on the right (Hate favorite apps lol)

So ive been using different locking methods and ive come to the conclusion that it is an issue with the standard swipe unlocking feature...not sure if its just me and my phone but thats what trial and error is for.. so anybody else having this problem, switch locking features...

Ive had this same problem on the Darthstalker s4 rom (I think is based off stock touchwiz)
I press the button to turn the screen on, swipe to unlock and nothing happens. I have to turn the screen off wait a min and try again.
Sometimes I have to reboot to fix it.
You're not alone on this issue.
I use the custom lightening effect, with a swipe lock.
I also find the system UI freezes at random times. mostly on the lockscreen, and then second most is on the homescreen.
Then occiasionally it (systemUI) crashed in apps like hangouts, and kik.

I though it was possilby something with and Xposed modul or the framework..
But I removed them and it was still doing that.
about once or twice per day my lockscreen or system UI freezes or takes a 5 minute timeout.
I'm not a dev, but maybe it's something with the phone sleeping, or a system/cache issue. I thought at first maybe I was out of ram from too many apps running, that wasn't the case.
anyone else with this issue...
would be great to hear about it.

I'm rooted running Darthstalker X 4.3
with xposed.
