Welcome to AF! :)

Turn the phone off, pull the battery out, put it back in and hold the volume down button whilst turning it back on (keep your finger on volume down). You should be taken in to a screen with 2 skateboarding androids on the bottom of it. From there, select recovery, and it should take you back into clockwork.

From there you'll be able to flash another ROM/restore your back up.

(Someone please correct me if I'm wrong) but I believe that when you flash a new rom you get a whole new load of system files so it will boot and work fine.

Spot on. :)

iss67, which ROM do you want to go for, I'd be in a better position to give you instructions that way.

Also, just confirm it's the Desire HD? I've googled and I'm 99.99% sure it is, but there was one translated Chinese link which stated it might have been the original Desire.

Head here: MIUI, Redefining Android – MIUI Android Developers

Download the DHD MIUI Rom. Turn the phone off, charge for a little, then boot up in recovery as I'd described a few posts above. Disconnect from the charger, then plug your phone into the PC. In Clockwork, head to the mounts and storage menu, then select Mount USB Storage. Hopefully, the phone should now appear as an external disk drive on your PC. Copy the zip file you downloaded onto the root of your SD Card (make sure it's not in any folders). Once copied, in clockwork, unmount USB Storage.

Normally, you'd take a backup here, but if you've already deleted the system partition, then that would be pointless so head to Wipe Data/Factory reset, confirm and let it run through the wipe (it shouldn't take too long). Then head to Wipe Cache Partition, again confirm and let it do it's thing.

Once complete, navigate to the option Install zip from SD Card, then select Choose Zip from SD Card, then select the MIUI zip you copied over a few minutes ago. Once that's done, head back to the main menu in clockwork, select Reboot Now and you'll hopefully be taken to your new MIUI ROM.

Hi Sir,
I have same problem but little more serious. I need your valuable support.
I tried to root my mobile by "Hack Ace" utility. but mistakenly, I plugged my mobile out without letting whole process get finished. now I am unable to reboot my mobile even in recovery mode. I got option to reboot in recovery mode but on selection of this mode I got a black screen. please help me in this regards. Thanks

Hey sir, should I ask your help, I have the same problem as iss67, but I also deleted the boot.. now, I am completely stuck on the LG logo, or it turns to a white screen. Please, could you help me get my pgone to normal ?!

Please could you let us know what phone you have, so we can point you in the right direction? The other users are discussing the HTC Desire HD - there would be no LG logo! :)

Damn right, forgot to point out that I'm using the LG-P500H. Also, I can't access Emergency Mode..
is this your phone?
LG Optimus One | LGP500 Optimus One with Google Search TM and App Advisor | LG Electronics Canada

if so,i will suggest making a new thread in the all things root section for the optimus p500 wich is here: Optimus One - All Things Root - Android Forums

i would gladly move posts for you,but im afraid doing so would require moving parts of this thread, wich may be confusing. you will prolly get better advice if you start fresh with a new thread describing your prollem as specifically as possible.

i do not know much(anything ;)) about lg,and dont feel id do a good job starting a thread for you trying to describe your prollem.

but feel free to holler if you need any other help manuvering here on the forum! :)

Hi,

I know this is an old thread but I wondering if any one could help me with a miracle.

I'm in the same position as OP but my volume button is not working and therefore I cannot enter recovery. I have replaced the upper motherboard (the one with the volume key) and it still doesn't work. Is there any way other way to get into recovery?

i have the same problem as iss67 but my volume buttons don't work on my htc desire hd does anybody know how to get rid off the permanent loading screen without using the volume buttons would be very much appreciated

sorry,no solution i know of without either a working adb connection,or working volume keys.

you could let it try to boot for a couple minutes, and check adb connectivity:

adb devices

if its booting far enuff into a rom where usb debug was enabled, you may be in business :)

you might also remove the rocker, and see if you can touch the contact buttons with a pen or similar skinny, pointy object.

I found a very similar question - possibly the same, in guest questions this morning. Can you get into fastboot mode by booting while pressing the back button (worked on the original Desire). Then hopefully you could erase cache, and if it's unlocked maybe fastboot boot into a touch recovery?

I put these suggestions into guest questions, so won't repeat details here. Was all I could think of.
