Hey folks,

Wondering if someone can give me advice on if it is worth it to root my galaxy S4. and if so, what custom ROM I should install on it if any?

Any advice, details, referrals, would be great!
I'm a complete rookie to the Rooting world and am very curious as well as cautions

Thanks,
Frost

You need root access to use xposed framework. And to be honest every rom has flashing instructions in the op( theyre all pretty much the same instructions). And as long as you follow them you will have no issues.

Now as far as is it worth it to root and or flash custom roms that really just depends on you. Also really depends on your firmware. The last 2 ota releases Samsung put out locked the boot loader and really limited what couldve been a great experienc. If your on amdb or amdl then your good. But if you took the ota and are on mf3 or mk2 then its really not worth considering if you ask me. Bc it limits you to only be able to put certain roms on your phone. Bc the bootloader is locked on those 2 you cannot get a custom recovery. And the boot loader wont let you odin to a older firmware that didnt have the locked boot loader.

But if by chance your not on the locked boot loader then you can always have the latest and greatest android version before its released to your phone. (Which can take forever ir never happen at all). You can also flash some pretty amazing roms that have all kinds of custom features and modifications. Also features ported from other phones that your phone would never have. You can remove samsung bloat crap that you never use and is taking up space slowing the phone and killing the battery running in the background. Most custom roms are themed and many of them have options in the settings for you to change how the phone looks to your own liking.

My 2 favorite roms are hyperdrive which is tw based and then pacman which is cyanogen mod based. Ill put the link under my post so you can read the ops. You can probably find a pacman rom review on youtube to check out as well.
