What does AF smoke

I'm a pipe smoker. I smoke a blended tobacco from the Lane co. It's a blend of golden virginia, Burleys, and toasted cavendish tobaccos. RLB-6 is the Lane number. Sold by most all fine tobacconist with a made up "shop" name . It's much like Captain Black but a different cut and no additives.

I also smoke meats. See my grillin thead in food and beverage :)

I smoke a pipe on occasion. It's an activity that I picked up on my first desert trip ("I'm bored. I need a new hobby. I think I'll start smoking a pipe."). I kept it up regularly on all my subsequent trips, but only do it a handful of times a year now that I'm back stateside for good.

I'm a pretty serious Tolkien nerd, so I generally smoke this in one of these.

I used to smoke cigarettes in college. Winston 100's back when they were $10 a carton. I'm a cigar smoker now. Two or three a week. More in the summer, less in the winter. My favorites are El Rey del Mundo rectangulare maduro, La Gloria Cubano Wavell (From Miami, if i can get them), Partagas #8 and Arturo Fuente 8-5-8. Include a nice peaty Islay or bourbon and I can waste and entire afternoon contemplating the relevance of humanity.

Spoiler alert:
I've discovered we're not that relevant. ;)

Good call on the Partagas #8 Luna. :)

There's a shop not too far from me, and the owners will let folks hang out in the lounge. You can bring your own beverage if you want. Good Glenfiddich, or Glenlivet on the rocks with a good cigar, and well natured people to converse with. It makes for a nice afternoon or evening. They have really nice leather chairs too. :D

I'm a fan of Alec Bradley cigars and Laphroaig scotch. Oban is good stuff too. But since I've started working out 2-3 times a week I haven't smoked as much. Smoking one night means the next two days' workouts will be really hard.

As for food, I've done ribs, brisket, pork shoulders, turkey, and cheese. This Thanksgiving I smoked a turkey for the family and I think I got 1 bite of it when all was done . You can go on about hickory all you want, for me, cherry wood is where it's at. For the ribs, brisket and pork I'll usually mix 3:1 cherry to hickory chunks (actually, for ribs I might do all cherry). For turkey, I'll usually do mesquite, though I have a bag of Jack Daniel's whiskey barrel chips that are interesting; lately I've been mixing them about 1:1. For cheese I usually use apple wood.

I recently quit smoking, and have resigned myself to the fact that I cannot even have the occasional cigar.:(

That said, I smoked Marlboro's mostly, but for a few years smoked Winchester Little Cigars.

When I quit cigarettes, I was terrified that if I were to ever pick up another one I wouldn't have the willpower to quit a second time. After a few years of not smoking anything, I picked up a cigarette during a period of stress ...and I HATED it. Cigars came in my 40's as a solitary self-indulgence once in a while. I think I'd yak if I tried a ciggy now. ;)

Man i wish i could quit smoking ,very nasty and stinky habit! Seems like when i think about trying to quit, i end up smoking more. :(

Most of my life i smoked kool milds, when cigarettes got to $5.00 a pack i decided to buy a machine and start rolling my own, that was about 2 years ago and still rollin. It works out to be about a buck a pack, actually they taste better than the kool milds, now it's going to be even harder to quit.

I hope you guys that quit never light up again, i envy you, i guess i just don't have the willpower to stop. :(
