The only way to lure my wife away from Verizon and into T-Mobile so we save money with only one plan is if T-Mobile has a phone with a slide keyboard.

I looked on their website and didn't find any phones with one.

She uses a Droid 4 right now and loves it. So something with that kind of power is needed. I'll buy used and convert it to T-Mobile if I have to. Of course the Droid 4 can't convert thanks to Verizon's unique network.

Please help

T-Mobile is a GSM carrier, so you can use any gsm phone with it. You aren't required to buy theirs

Id look on Craigslist or eBay for phones made for ATT or tmobile. You'll have a wider selection that way

There's an important caveat with AT&T phones - the two networks use a slightly different set of frequencies for 3G data. The big thing to look for is either 1900 MHz (in a "refarmed" area) or 1700 *and* 2100 MHz.

GSMArena has a handy Phone Finder search function that may be helpful.

(Some discussion on the frequency differences can be found on a T-Mobile Support Page)

Just curious, has she tried going with an onscreen keyboard?

Most of my family felt the same way, where they wanted the physical keyboard, but ended up not getting one due to limited options.

They learned to live with the onscreen keyboard very quickly, and ended up going with on screen again for their next upgrade.

Galaxy S Relay had an update to Jellybean 4.1.2 earlier this year.

Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G T699 - Full phone specifications

That looks like the only offer that T-mobile has that she could use. A lot of reviews from people saying the phone is locking up constantly. And T-mobile only selling refurbs .. meaning it's all the phones that were sent back that were locking up lol.

Maybe I can find a brand new one somewhere.

Sorry but qwerty phones are low priority with these companies. Good luck!

I have a Galaxy Note 3. One of the biggest phone screens on the market. She tried using my phone and hated it. She's used to an actual keyboard because she can text faster.

If she tried SwiftKey she would not go back. There is absolutely no way she can text faster with a physical keyboard than flowing with SwiftKey and it guessing what you are going to type next.

I don't even think it's possible to type faster on a physical keyboard over an on screen. Especially on the note 3. I type extremely fast on this. The only physical keyboard I could possibly see being compared is a portrait one like a blackberry. But... Look on eBay for Bluetooth qwerty keyboard. You can use them for most phones.
