Root [MetroPCS & T-Mobile] Custom Recovery with Saferoot

Hey guys, I just rooted my phone with saferoot. I read parts of the xda thread that talked about it and in one of them posts, someone mentioned custom recovery installations I was wondering if that is something I need for the F3.

What do you mean by nandroid backup? While were at it, is there a good uninstallation app I can use that will erase all traces of an app from my phone, seeing as how limited this phone is in internal memory? or does the stock uninstall option work well?
