Help Flashed rom from CWM, tapped reboot, device now dead

So any help is appreciated. I sucessfully rooted the device and got CWM loaded. I flashed rom, now the issue is that the rom I flashed was for the vs910. CWM said flash sucessful, when I clicked reboot the device went black. It appeared that the device was dead, but when I plug it up to the computer it installs drivers. Any help is appreciated as this was a friends phone.

Anywho, as for your fix. Pull your battery. Re-insert your battery. Then hold power+vol down until the factory reset screen comes up. Press power twice. This will reboot you into CWM. From there, flash a correct VS920 rom. Let us know the outcome when you are done.

I've never looked at the partition table for the VS910, so I'm hoping the boot.img you flashed with the rom wrote to mmcblk0p8 and not some other partition.

Anywho, as for your fix. Pull your battery. Re-insert your battery. Then hold power+vol down until the factory reset screen comes up. Press power twice. This will reboot you into CWM. From there, flash a correct VS920 rom. Let us know the outcome when you are done.

This is my issue though, when I hold down the power button, any combination the phone does nothing. Also I know the battery is charged becuase I work for a major cell phone company and have access to a cadex machine the battery is almost fully charged.

It was half accident half not paying attention. I did a google search and saw revolution on xda and mixed up my model numbers, didn't realize until after the damage was done.

Link me the ROM you flashed. I need to see what it did to your boot partition. Also, are you able to enter download mode? Download mode is pull battery, insert battery, hold down vol up+vol down and insert USB cable.

Yikes. OK. Here's the scoop. The ROM overwrote your cwm recovery, your boot chain, and your radio. Your aboot partition is fine though so try booting into download mode. It may take a few tries. Once there you'll be using the lg update tool to restore your phone. I'm at work and can't link it now, but it's all over the root section of this forum. Let me know how it goes.

Its just when I hold vol up and vol down and plug in device nothing shows up on the screen, however I am now getting capacitive buttons lighting up, ill try recovering it

Edit2: I followed the direction almost exactly, but the LG tool isn't doing what the poster says it should be doing. I took 2 screen shots and attached them to this post. Also when I rooted it it was on zv9. I'm just not seeing any other recovery options. Thanks for continued help.

Well, you found my post, but you're not really reading it. The top has new instructions that say to skip the KP500 tool. As for your phone, it's possible that the battery is dead by this point if all you're getting is blinking lights.
I'm going to ask a silly question, but did you do anything besides flash V2.0 from that link you gave me? The info I have from you does not match the scenario I'm seeing. That ROM wipes out 4 partitions, which on our phone are TZ, SBL3, /persist, and /recovery. None of these partitions should be needed for Aboot to start up and kick over to download mode, or at the very least, you should be able to bring up the "factory reset" screen, even though you no longer have CWM on there. Any extra info you can provide, can help me trouble shoot your issue.

Well, you found my post, but you're not really reading it. The top has new instructions that say to skip the KP500 tool. As for your phone, it's possible that the battery is dead by this point if all you're getting is blinking lights.

I tried the "New Method" but it doesn't work, the phone doesn't connect. I'll throw the battery back on my cadex charger. Originally I rooted the phone and pushed CWM on ZV9 sucessfully. So the thing I didn't mention is that there was a 2.1 patch that I flashed right after i flashed the rom. The whole issue is that after I flashed the rom, the phone went dead, I did an internal inspection to make sure there wasn't a circuit board issue. All flex cables are in tact.

It's almost as if the drivers from the rom aren't allowing the screen to work, or something along that line. The 2.0.1 patch just adds a few files in, but something is definitely goofy. When the phone connects, what does it report as? I'm wondering if you somehow triggered a NV restore mode when TZ and SBL3 got wiped.

Cadex machine said the battery was completely dead, I'm charging it up now and will try your "New" method again and report back. I had the battery fully charged yesterday, I didn't think all this stuff was actually draining it because it didn't appear to be on. Anyway I'll report back

You don't understand linux well then. The linux kernel contains all the drivers for the hardware in your system. The same is true for android. Your boot.img contains drivers for everything from the speakers, to the LED lights behind your screen. But here's what happened with what you flashed.

The device needs to go through a boot chain, starting with ABOOT. It then goes to SBL1->SBL2->SBL3->TZ->RPM->KERNEL (it may not be exactly this, but it's very close). When you flashed the ROM you did, you overwrote TZ and SBL3, which means the system no longer has a valid boot chain and hangs.

Now, when we do a factory reset, it puts a flag on the /misc partition which changes the boot chain to be ABOOT->Recovery . However, the ROM you flash deleted the Recovery partition as well. You don't notice it until a reboot though, as what you're seeing on the screen is entirely loaded into the RAM at the time.

Now here is what I don't understand. ABOOT should trigger on it's own and still give you the option to set the factory reset flag, even if your recovery partition doesn't exist. But as you've reported, you're not getting that option. ABOOT should also contain everything inside of it to enter "download mode". It was designed this way in case of a catastrophic error in another partition. As long as ABOOT is good, recovery is doable, and I've done a lot of work with the bootchain to know this.

So, we're back at square one. Here are the possible scenarios.
1) ABOOT is corrupt and you're holding a brick in your hands.
2) Hardware failure on the screen which is preventing you from seeing it. You're PC should still pick up the phone once it's in download mode though, so I suggest trying the recovery tool, even if you can't see your screen. Just hold down both volume buttons, put the battery in and connect the USB cable. Keep holding them for about 5 seconds. That should be long enough for ABOOT to kick in.
3) The volume buttons are broken (probably vol down) and it's preventing you from setting any flags with ABOOT
4) There is more to ABOOT than even I know about and you found a way to brick a phone, even though it has a function ABOOT.

I'm not really sure which scenario happened, but if you can't get into download mode, you're dead in the water as nothing else can fix you're phone at this point.

It makes most sense since I can't get into download mode or recovery thats it's just a hard brick. I've had several LG devices so I know how to get into download mode. For Download Mode...

Hold Volume Up, Volume Down, and Power until it says Emergency Download Mode on the screen.

Then connect to the PC and use Upgrade Recovery from the LG tool.

I'm not sure that I've ever gotten that method to work. The way I have used is to power off the phone and unplug it, hold down Vol+ and Vol- and plug in a power cord while holding down those two buttons.
