Hello all,

Since a few days i have a problem that i cant reinstall an app.
It downloads and when it tries to install it gives an unknown error -24.
I have looked around for a possible solution but all are based on that the phone is rooted.
Mine is not and do not intend to root as i dont like to risk my phone and i dont think ill use it besides this time.
Also been using the phone for some time now and dont want to reinstall everything and redo all the work.
Anybody have an idea how to solve this? The only thing i could find is to delete the package in data/data folder, but i dont have access to it.
Factory reset is not really an option as i have to start over again too.
I tried to empty the cache of playstore and delete all files but that didnt solve it.
Phone is a Nexus 5 4.4.2.
Thanks in advance!

Done :) thanks

@Earlymon

Thanks for the advice, that seems like an great app!
What do i lose when i use this procedure?

You're going to lose some of your settings and account setups, not a lot iow, but some of your time.

If you're using a launcher like Nova, use its backup feature to save your home screen setups.

Verify that your contacts are safely on the Google web before proceeding.

I know the problem has already been resolved, but would removing the google account, and adding it back have addressed this issue? (other google play installation/update errors do get resolved by this - unless the error 24 is something unique).

Nope.

This is a general app install error that doesn't depend on your account or device type.

More details here when I helped a rooted user earlier this month with the same thing -
