Making a stand from the box

I saw a website for the Nexus 7 made from the box that it came in but it required cutting pieces from the box and some careful measuring before cutting.

I wanted to make a quick and dirty stand and had the box with me so I took it out to play around with it to see if I could make a stand for my office. I have the Asus dock at home and it's great for charging but it's nice to have one in the office too.

I took the inner box and put it in the outer box at a 90 degree angle and taped the two together. The inner box has a ledge that's about 3/8s of an inch that you can rest the Nexus 7 on in landscape mode and the top of the Nexus 7 rests against the top of the outer box.

I can use the stand for typing or gestures and it seems to be sturdy enough for watching videos or reading. It's a little high off the desk (1.5 inches) but it works.

I actually have a neat lil adjustable phone stand that i got from the pound shop (dollar store) and it works perfectly with the tab. Ill post a pic when i get a better camera on my phone :)

Just use Wug's toolkit, I'd be amazed if you could brick it :p

I just wish I'd have done mine right off the bat when I got it. Took a little work to get everything back on after a year of use.

Yeah i just got mine on boxing day so im not wasting time putting many apps on or customising until i get it rooted. Think im gona keep it stock rom and use Xposed Framework. It seems to be runnin pretty nice on stock kk so far :)

I should put on Xposed. Although I'm not real sure what I'd change, but far better to experiment on the N7 than my locked down Moto X :p
