Well as You probably already know this is my 5th LG G2. Yes the screen flickered at about 4:00pm yesterday. So I called AT&T and let them know that my phone was starting to flicker again. The nice lady put me on hold for about 5 minutes and called LG tech support. When she got back on the phone with me she said LG wasn't much help so she instructed me on how to put my phone in safe mode for a few hours:thinking:. Since I called AT&T at around 6:00am she wanted to see if the phone would flicker while in safe mode and that she she would call me back at 9:00pm. Me and my wife wanted to test the phone for a little longer so when she called back we let her know that we'll run it in safe mode until friday. for some reason I'm optimistic cause I truly believe its one of the apps I downloaded from the Google Playstore (since my Wife's G2 isn't having any issues).;)

I have the g2 and also I had some problems with it at the beginning,as many seem to have.
My problem was having low battery life. But, I reset my phone twice each time tracking down the source, and now I'm able to.enjoy my phone completely. If you have a problem, try to reset the phone, it might get fixed.

I never check that box. I always leave my brightness setting at 60%

Sorry to hear that ABC76. Thanks for correcting me. I have mine set on 50% with Automatic off. Can you try setting it to 50% and see if that makes a difference? Obviously you are running in "Safe" mode. So not an Apples/Apples comparison.

I do think my first unit had more of an issue than the replacement. Possibly, the ambient light sensor in the device is flakey?

Since this is your fifth, and I cannot believe your bad luck, do you have a screen protector? Mine does not cover the light sensor, proximity sensor, or front camera... Does yours?

I bought my LG G2 on September 20, 2013, my mobile service company is AT&T. The only two problems I founded are not related with the stock phone, but with two paid apps on Google Play Store. GO SMS $19.99 and Timely Clock, don't remember how much I paid for Timely. This two apps freak out my G2, so I uninstall them. My former phone was an HTC ONE, no problems with this two apps. Maybe, and just maybe, there are paid apps in Google Store that doesn't work with the G2. The Timely Clock effect on the phone screen was a constant tremors kind of shake. The GO SMS apps mess up the addressee of my text messages, so when I send a message to Mary it's goes to John phone. This was a terrible lag situation with this GO SMS app. I uninstalled it, and now I use Textra with no problems at all. So check out your installed apps, free or paid, at Google Play Store and uninstall those that are freaking out your LG G2. I hope that you can fixed the problem, so you can enjoy your phone. This is the best android phone experience that I got so far. Good luck.

Thanks Emilioaponte, just got off the phone about an hour ago with an AT&T rep and he basically told me the same thing since my screen started going crazy again in safe mode. I did a factory reset on my phone and will see how this phone reacts with no apps downloaded from the Playstore. He told me to download a couple apps at a time and see how the phone reacts to them, but I'm not gonna download any apps for a few days to see if my phone behaves like it should. ;0)

Why in the world would you pay $19.99 for GO SMS?

You are always welcome Sir. If your phone work fine after a few days without download apps, then your phone is good. When you start downloading again do it slow one app at a time, check out if the phone works good with that particular app, then download another app until you find what app is the one that freaks your phone and uninstall it. Maybe, and just maybe, there are more than one. So keep downloading, checking out how the phone runs with the last download app. It's kind of slow situation but is the right way to point out the specific app that freaks your G2. Trust me this is the best phone I ever own and as a matter of fact the list is a long one.

Hahaha, you make my night with your question. Let see if my answer help me understand how I lose $19.99. Some years ago when smart phones came to AT&T I lose my mind with BlackBerry Bold devices. My last one was the 9900, then I jump to Android. My formers phones are: HTC ONE X, HTC ONE X+, HTC ONE. My phones aren't rooted, just stock. In the past four years I had paid good $$$ for apps that at a particular moment feels good to me. GO developers apps woks fine in all my Android phones. I got the paid versions of Next Launcher, Go Launcher Ex, Go Locker. I used the free version of GO SMS in my first two HTC ONE, never a problem. Then on my third and last HTC ONE I updated to the prime paid version of the app, all themes free forever , never a problem. Then last September 2013 I bought my current phone, LG G2, and installed some of my paid apps at Google Store. To my surprise, GO SMS and TIMELY go freaking crazy on my LG G2. So now I use the stock alarm clock to wake up in the morning and 8SMS app, kind of the last coke of Google Android regarding text message app, free at Google Store. Another text message app, free at Google Store, that I use now is TEXTRA. The funny thing here is that I paid for the prime versions of many launchers, including the three most expensive; Next, TS Shell

It is CAB. Content Adaptive Backlight. This is LCD, not AMOLED. The screen dims itself no matter your brightness depending on content color to get darker darks. The contrast ratio on LCD is inherently lower than AMOLED. Something of 1500:1. It is baked into kernel, and currently there is no way to disable this stock, nor would you want to. It's just too aggressive is and LG needs tone it down. This is why higher brightness level makes a noticeable difference. I've been running low brightness with lux higher on the sun side, hasn't been bad at all. Just read up on it. It isn't the phone or hardware, it's software driven. The flicker can be extremely noticeable scrolling browser pages with dark portions, videos, ect.

I very rarely notice it besides some random page. Hopefully LG will resolve the issue for stock. I love stock. Always go back. First time ever.

I keep mine at 55-57% brightness, auto-adjust turned off[never used it - it annoys me!].

Hope that they do... i mean, they have to ! Let's wait for 4.4 to arrive and we shall see :) ...btw, this is the only Android phone that i have and it's not rooted, i guess that this beast blows everything away w/ a fast and stable ROM.

I'll wait and see, still not decided...
