What should I get?

I'm new to this forum so I'm not sure if this is in the right place to post this.

Well I'm wondering if I should get the Nexus 7 for $200 2nd gen 32gb, or the Nook HD+ 32gb, or a new phone. If I were to go the phone route I'd get either the Nexus 5 or the LG G2. If I were to get a Nook HD+ I'd do the cyanogenmod. I currently have a LG Motion 4G and I was thinking of doing the cyanogenmod. I've never done cyanogenmod and I haven't rooted either. I'm a little hesitant to do either. Thanks for reading!

curious as to why you want to root the nook hd+?

i have it and it is rooted, but out of all the devices this is the only one you mentioned about rooting it.

It's not just rooting that I want to do. I also want to do the cyanogenmod. I want to do this because I've read that cyanogenmod could make the nook HD+ faster. The Nexus 7 is already pretty much bare bones so I don't see a need to root it.

If I were to get a nexus 5, would it be better than having a nexus 7 and lg motion combo?

Tough question to answer because it depends on how badly you'd rather have a phone and a tab. The N5 is clearly a powerhouse with the latest specs and a larger screen but the Motion has a good, albeit somewhat smaller dev community than many flagships. They do have CM roms though which sounds appealing to you.

It may behoove you to check out either the G2 or N5 in person and see if the larger screen size would suppress your desire for a tablet to get the tradeoff of a much faster processor. The G2 is a skinned UI so you might want to check that out to see if you like it. Its mainly about personal preference because you won't see much benefit running CM speed wise. I own that phone and it smokes. Also has one of the best, if not THE best battery life of any current Android phone.

Do you have the G2 or the Motion?

Okay, thank you! I'll have to go and test these two phones out along with the tablets.

Always do your own research. Asking a question like this only lets you know why each person liked the phone they picked. If 8 out of 10 responses said the iPhone 5s was the best phone to get, would you then go out and buy one without trying it out for yourself? I'd hope not.
