Help Not using s pen

Am I the only one?
I haven't pulled out my s pen in two months plus.
I knew this fantastic phone was overkill for me. That said, I'm still very pleased with my purchase. The big screen was more important for me than the s pen capabilities.

You're not the only one that doesn't use their S-pen, which is understandable because many people don't have a "need" for it. I'm constantly using my S-pen. I even have multiple S-pen's, to the point that I don't actually pull the integrated S-pen out of the phone, unless I'm away from my office and forgot to carry my bigger s-pen (either my s-pen holder, s-pen with eraser, or Bamboo stylus).

I've always had a propensity to write down everything I need to remember, so having the s-pen is an absolute must have for me nowadays. It has also given me the comfort of being a little more "green" in not using physical paper as much as I used to...especially when it comes to writing notes.

Beyond taking notes, I've found more and more reasons to use the S-pen, once I had it and is a big reason why I hope Samsung doesn't retire the Note series and also sticks with Android OS, vs. starting to use their own "in house" OS.

Now that made me smile ksnake, you got in quick there!

I have to say once you actually make a concious effort to use it you'll wonder after a while how you did with out it.

It does take some practice and almost seems counter intuitive at first, but like the Swype keyboard, once it gets you, it really is like "How the heck did I do without it!

I went nuts using it at first, the novelty of it and learning what it was capable of. Pretty good learning curve with this phone.

Then I went a while where I didn't use it as much, just to see that i actually could.

I am now sort of blending my usage and trying to use the phone efficiently.

Be nice to know about these extra s pens. Where'd you get them, features, benefits, etc.

S-pen with eraser is available on Samsung shop website. Same with S-pen extension kit.

Bamboo is a company that designs Wacom digitizers. They made one specifically for Samsung note devices.

The other one I was considering is the Samsung hm5100, but waiting for cost to drop more

I don't write notes very often. That said, I'll begin to use the s pen to jot down things before I forget. Pretty sweet the notepad opens up while my phone is locked.
Who knows, this may lead to something great (a little teary-eyed).

scrapbook has come in pretty handy as well, especially with all the deals going on and needing to take pictures with annotated notes on what to potentially get people for Christmas

Orded this one, it'll take a while from the US, but it is not exactly expensive.

Samsung Galaxy Note S Pen w/ Eraser - $9.95

Nice! Didn't even realize all4cellular had it! That's a great deal. I paid 1/2 price on what it sells for on Samsung's website.

For those looking for a slightly bigger s-pen that's easier to write with, this is an extremely good deal and choice.

All4Cellular is out of stock, but they had the S-pen Holder Kit as well
Samsung Galaxy Note S Pen Holder Kit (Bulk) - $19.95

Unfortunately, the only S-pen that fits in the holder kit is the S-pen from the original Note, but still works fine with any of the Note series.

Here is the Bamboo Stylus made for the Samsung Note series (my favorite to use at work):

And Here is the HM5100 BT S-pen

You won't regret it. I use this a lot on both Note 2 and Note 10.1. Love it when I can draw and erase naturally without having to think or interrupt what I'm doing to press a button or icon. I paid retail pricing (including S&H) for mine. But it was a pain to find since Canada doesn't carry it and need to import it.

Here's some comparison shots:

Screen shots I use it all the time..
The one thing it is very useful for is during a phone call..
Set the call to speakerphone and use it for note taking during the phone call.. Very helpful..

It's awesome doing that with a bt headset connected. That way, call stays private, but I can take notes at the same time.

I use mine for quick notes (where I would have previously used the back of an envelope) and screenshots... I just love being able to use it like the snippling tool in windows and paste the contents into an email for use later.
