SDHC Card Not Working in Note 3

I was excited to receive the 64 GB Micro SDHC card (Samsung microSDXC UHS-I Card Pro) for my Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Now very disappointed ... I put the card in my iBook G4, but it would not read it. Option to Eject or Format, so I tried formatting Mac OS. Phone would NOT read card. Then formatted DOS. Phone still will not read card.

Last, my Note 3 formatted the card, but now my Mac will not read the card!!! The only way that I can load files onto the card is from my iBook. ALL, yes every single one, of my other SD and SDHC cards are readable with my Samsung Galaxy Note 3, so I can load files onto the phone.

Is there a Hidden Secret to getting this card to work with my Samsung Galaxy Note 3, or is the card simply defective?

-- Jim ....

It should be formatted exFat, and I don't know if a Mac is capable of formatting it or reding that format. But if you boot into recovery you should be able to format it in the phone.

Just got off the phone with Samsung Tech Support. They told me the Note 3 is not compatible with Class 10 SD Cards. So I will need to buy a Class 6 card instead.

That's just plain BS!

Note 2 here and it can take 64GB SDXC Class 10 (UHS-1) microSD without issues. In fact I have 2 other Class 10 cards that work perfectly fine with my Note 2. So Note 3 should have NO issues whatsoever.

SDHC or SDXC? This DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Did you get from a reliable seller/retailer? Only reason I'm asking is that 64GB is NOT a SDHC card. SDHC card maxes out at 32GB (anything higher is a SDXC). So if it's SDHC you got ripped off and is not a legit card.

Don't know if Mac will ever support exFAT considering exFAT is developed by Microsoft and first seen/used by Vista OS.

Say what? That support staffer doesn't know what they're talking about. Lots of people use Class 10 cards with the Note 3, and if there were any compatibility problem it'd be when the card is too slow, not when it's too fast!

They must have thought you meant a regular SD card vja4Him. I've been using this one Samsung 64GB MicroSD XC Pro Class 10 UHS-1 Read Speed 70mb/s Write Speed 20mb/s Ultra Fast Speed Memory Card for Samsung Galaxy S IV S4 4 with SoCal Trade, Inc. Memory Card Reader from Amazon since the end of October for my large music collection without any issues. Where did you get your card and did the packaging have any silver foil holograms on it?

As said above check your card isn't a fake. I bought a PNY class 10 32gb card for my Note 2 and it works fine in my Note 3. I can see why people find it hard to buy these days, its like a bloody minefield out there trying to get legit goods, I just thought I had picked up a 'genuine' MHL 2.0 HDTV adapter off Ebay, everything looked bang on when it arrived, packaging and the item looked 100% real, then I plugged it in and no go, it worked when I added power so that was the big giveaway, best of it was the guy completely denies its fake through Ebay resolution center!
