Where are the cases?

Seidio website does.

I know, that's what's weird w/this case. It's not branded as a SEIDIO case on the packaging or on the case itself, as the case has a "PT" logo.
But, the SKU matches a SEIDIO case on BEST BUY's site:

Seidio PT Holster for LG G2 Cell Phones PT-LGG2H2B - Best Buy

A call/email to SEIDIO should clarify if this case was meant for both variants of the G2.
It's a moot point for me now, as I cut the bottom strip off the case to allow for room to separate the two pieces & remove the case.

I got a YESOO branded TPU Case today (Jet Black edge / Matte Black finish on the back):

Slim Fit TPU Silicone Gel Candy Case Cover LG Optimus G2 D803 Lot | eBay

Nice fit/finish, plenty of edge protection to safely place the phone face-down w/o worry.
The clearance for the USB port is a bit narrow. Not sure if the stock USB cable will fit (still in box/unwrapped), I had to go through a couple of old ones & found one w/a slim profile & slightly longer plug/prong to work.

I really liked the SEIDIO/PT case from BEST BUY, but, I don't like the idea of having to fight w/it every time I choose to remove it, as I not only had to cut the bottom out, but, slide a plastic wedge down from the cutout for the controls, between the phone & case, down to the point where the two pieces meet, to unlatch for removal.

I gave up. I took off my Diztronic case and I could not be happier. The phone feels so much better, I love being able to swipe all the way to the edges of the phone without hitting anything on sides, it just feels faster and smoother and I know that's an illusion but the whole thing feels very right this way.

My only complain is the slippery back.

Just ordered a MOPHIE-Style battery case from here:

Power Jacket for LG G2 - 3200mAh

ETA 7-21 business days, will post a review once it comes in.

Also available for pre-order from MOBILE FUN:

Power Jacket 3200mAh for LG G2 - Black :: MobileFun.com

Admittedly,I'm not too crazy about the design covering the power button & volume rocker:

Note: Volume and power buttons are covered when the Power Jacket is attached. Please Charge the Battery Case before Usage. Please Charge the Battery Case and LG G2 Separately.

However, since this (non-VZW) phone doesn't have the wireless charging, this will do for the overnight/evening use & not worry about plugging-in at night,as I grew accustomed to w/the NOTE 3.

howdy,

I need some help locating a flipbook/portfolio case for a VZW G2. I've looked at the Poetic Amazon.com: Poetic Flipbook Case for LG G2 Black (Verizon version Only) (3 Year Manufacturer Warranty From Poetic): Cell Phones & Accessories but looks like the quality of the case is questionable. I would swear that I saw a link in this thread that took me to some website and I saw a portfolio case for 29.99 and it was white or black color but now I can't find it. Any help is more than appreciated.

Thanks!

I'd probably Google LG G2 flip cover...

What about the LG QuickWindow case?

Google'd it can't find it, don't like the quick window because screen is exposed. Right now I have the Incipo feather which is a nice case but I hate the screen protectors so that's why I'm looking for the flip book/portfolio case. I like the naked screen and to be honest this screen scratches easily I've had the phone for about a week now and already there are tons of fine scratches on it and it's always in my pocket never set down face down.

I really like the poetic flip book case after using it for about a month now. I use the stand feature quite a lot due to the large format display. The cover is held on via suction cups that I originally hated but now have gotten used to. I would recommend this case

How are the cups holding up? Is the cover flapping around or does it say in place and does it make the screen come on every time that you open it? I have a portfolio case on my Optimus G Pro but it's a original case with the magnet etc so as soon as I open it screen comes on. I'm worried that if the flap is moving too much it'll make the screen come on all the time while it's in the pocket and drain the battery. I couldn't care less if the screen comes on when you open the case I just don't want it to drain the battery unnecessarily. Is your screen naked or do you have a screen protector on it?

Thanks in advance!

The lack of magnets means you have to turn off the screen before u close it otherwise it will just stay on until your screen timer kicks in. As far as staying on is concerned your going to quickly get used to just giving the 2 cups, one on the bottom and one on the top a quick reassuring press before u put the phone away. This actually is stronger than magnets in my opinion. No flapping at all. If you don't press them in they might not stay tho, really depends on a lot of things.
My screen is naked. Although I could use a good recommendation for a screen protector when my phone is out of the case

Just picked up the Cruzerlite TPU for the Verizon G2. Love it! Cutouts are perfect and it is very minimal but provides great protection also. Loks good too.
Only $12-13 on amazon. Lots of colors to choose from too.

Anyone tried out the Ballistic Maxx SG case?

Yeah? What's your take on it? Is it worth buying?

I need the protection and looking to try something other than an otterbox.

Working with a cheap $5 that gave me absolutely no protection. Shattered on a drop anyway :D

I have the shell version, which is just slightly slimmer then the maxx version. If you look closely, the Maxx has little bigger protection on the corner. It's a very big case, making the G2 almost double the size.

I would say it's almost or the same as the Defender in size and protection. It does look like it'll protect the G2 better then those slim cases. One thing that bothers me besides the size is, it picks up lint and hair like crazy.....

I think this one will fit both, as the packaging doesn't distinguish between the two U.S. variations (VZW vs all others) & the cutout is a bit oversized in length & width on my phone.

Assuming all the ports/mics/jack are the same, I'd bet this will fit the VZW variant.

Hi Kolio,

Unfortunately, our case for the LG G2 will NOT fit with the Verizon version. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Does anyone use a wallet case? I've gotten used to consolidating my phone and wallet in the past but my Verizon G2 is too big for my old case. I could fit 10 credit/id cards in the slot and cash in the zip pocket of my old Golla pouch but the phone was only ~4in instead of the 5.2in now with G2.

I'm considering something like the "Golla-Samsung-Galaxy-Wallet-Willie"
or
"Golla-G1283-Mobile-Wallet-packaging" on Amazon (not allowed to post links)

but now sure how the fit will be and it can't hold all my cards...
TIA!

so if you have your phone on vibrate, or if you use a wireless charger, wouldn't you be risking the data encoded on the magnetic strips of your cards?

My old phone was on vibrate for close to 100% of the time, why would that affect the data?

I don't have a charging plate yet but I would take it out of the wallet to charge. It'd be too think to charge through, most likely.

to create a vibration, a phone uses a tiny motor with a weight that is skewed off axis, so when the motor spins up, the device creates this sensation. I think the magnetic field from the motor could damage a credit card in close proximity.

If you have a VZW model with the Qi charging capability, there are a number of cases that permit charging with the case still on. My TUDIA case works fine in this regard. However, I wouldn't put a credit card near my Qi charging pad or an AC adapter. :)

I would also avoid any case that has a magnetic closure mechanism placed in proximity to a credit card or other with a magnetic stipe.

I guess there is some debate as to if one can place a phone in close proximity to one of these cards. I just wouldn't do it.

I just ordered the Ballistic Shell a few days ago before coming here. I have not received it yet, but I wish I would have ordered the Maxx for working out. I need the holster. Grrrr.

I just got my G2 Monday, but I have a tendency to drop phones so I don't care how bulky my case is. In less than a year I spent over $240 on screen replacement for my iPhone (even when it was in case). I read that the G2 has a very sensitive screen, watched countless drop tests and read/watched countless reviews.

I know that I had to either go with the Otterbox or something of the like. In pictures, the Otterbox Defender appears to be FAR more bulky than the Ballistic cases. I'm so hard on my phones that I was hesitant to try the Ballistic. I'll let you know how it works. I will also be adding a Zagg Invisible Shield (screen), just because!!
