But they consider that the norm with any non Maxx phone. So vs a phone with a similar size battery....its par for the course. And makes the DNA a nice buy. But for folks that need a better battery.....it might not be.

Well I just read their review of the RAZR from 2011...exact same results. RAZR has a 1780 battery. HTC really shoulda put a bigger battery in this phone. Its good battery life results for the DNA tho considering the spec differences. While some ppl complained about battery life on the RAZR...I felt at the time it was on par to above vs. some other Android phones at the time.

Reading some more....its on par with the GS3 and One X. Thats good company IMO. I feel the GS3 has good battery life.

Yes, it is. I have the 'plain' Razr HD. I still love it. IMO these two phones are the minimum devices to spend a great deal of money on. I am not an early adopter, but a wait and see-er. I think most previous, ok well, all previous phones were fairly hinky for the price demanded. This phone is totally useful, though the camera is *slightly* dissapointing, I hold out hope some software will clear it up as I have gotten some great shots with it. So I believe the hardware itself is as capable, or nearly so, as the beautifully equipped Samsung IIIs.

There are still some quirks with smartphones (compass not totally reliable, maps not perfect, etc) but boy, they got close on this one. I believe in 5 years we'll look back and see the Razr HD and Maxx as the turning point to when phones got "real". Like when the first automobile with clutch/brake/gas and shifter on the right was created.

Ok, I wax long-winded. D/l the root tools and sdk. I plan on putting this phone through it's paces.

+ Multi-tasking (not an HD owner, so don't know exactly how desirable this is)
+ Apt-X bluetooth codec (paired with an apt-X headphone, it's like wired).

I don't like the reality of the 4.3" screen most of the time (except vids, pics), but that's probably because of the advertised 4.7" brought expectations. Sounds like a phone that can do everthing well.

I like mine fast, camera is ok the video of live shows have come out fine.
I love the connections speed and unlimited 4 g is great

Wow, I had the Razr Maxx when it first came out. Switched from an iphone4s and boy was that a mistake. The phone did not send the mp3 tags to my bluetooth stereo in my car (never had an issue with the iphones). Also, bluetooth would only connect to my car half of the time. What's funny is that we are a large corporation and just had our Verizon Wireless Sales Engineer and Design Engineer onsite last month. He had the Razr Maxx HD. I explained my issues with bluetooth and he had the exact same issues on the HD. It was disapointing that Motorola never addressed this.

I also had an issue with wifi connectivity. The phone would NOT connect to any WAPs, unless the signal strength was very strong. Again, never an issue with the iphone. I had to relocate WAPs at my house to connect my phone.

I waited for the ICS update, to see if the issue was fixed. Updated and everything still functioned the same as before. Long story short, sold the phone on Ebay and went back to my iphone.

Got tired of the iphone (after 2 yrs) and decided to try the S3. Now THAT is a phone. Syncs to my blutooth everytime, connects to the WAPs without an issue. Also sends the MP3 tags to my stereo.

Sorry, I know no one asked for my life story on my phone, but after seeing this, felt complelled to post and share my experience. I will never buy another Motorola product as long as I live.

Man I want this phone but I just can't justify the chang from my S3. I hate the build quality, but I love the camera and the screen. Not to mention the Wolfson chip is a big plus for music..

I just wanted to respond to this so that someone considering the Moto Razr Maxx HD isn't swayed by this comment. I don't have any wifi issues. It connects and stays connected at work, friends, home which are all different routers and a mix of 2.4GHz G,N and 5GHz N. I never have issues with bluetooth either. It connects and works well with my Kenwood Xcelon car stereo for both voice and media.

Agreed, thankfully the international versoin the Delux DLX has sd slot and comes in the most beautiful of whites.

I am considering getting this phone, the only thing holding me back is the camera. I use the camera a lot for my job, I currently have a Droid Inc2 and it takes pretty damn good pics.

I just went to the Note 3. I loved my Razr Maxx HD, but the Note blows it away in every category.

Have had my Razr Maxx HD for ~ a year now and there is nothing out there tempting me away from it. The New Droid Maxx is too big. Scared of call quality on Samsung phones (previous Samsung phones were awful).

Actually just updated to the HD Maxx just 2 months ago and so far love it. I went with this older version as it still has a SD slot and that goes away on the new version. I am hoping for at least one more upgrade to 4.3 but we will see. I will be using this for a while too..........

I just traded a guy my Note II for a Razr HD and I couldn't be happier! Smaller device offering better one-handed use. It's a slightly skinned pure google experience after using a GNex for the last couple days and the motorola overlay that it does have is very useful in my estimation. Had the first razr twice and wasn't impressed but this thing is a joy to use and may have made me a Moto convert!!

You know....though I have the non-Maxx RAZR I'm in agreement with the thread title. Normally I hesitate to call anything the best anything but I judge smartphones based on the amount of time I have to spend on the forums searching for things to help improve battery life or solve issues. With this phone...that time has been VERY minimal. Battery life is amazing for me and I'm not using any Play Store apps or smart actions to pull it off. I was experiencing lag on the homescreen and quickly found a solution of switching the launcher to Nova, getting my Circles Widget fix using One More Clock Widget's "Chrome Rings" theme and replacing 'Quick Settings' by setting up Power Toggles to give me all the same options that Quick Settings afforded me.

Done deal!

Yeah I agree. The last couple days (because I don't like to plug in over night) I've gotten 20 hrs or better before plugging in while I'm getting ready for work in the AM.
