In Car Mounts for Note 3

Currently looking for an in car mount for the beat. I have my gps and satellite radio already sitting on my dash, so don't really want to but another dash mount for my phone.

I have looked at a couple of the CD Mounts and wondering if others are using them, and if so, what they think?

ExoMount looks to have a good one, also looking at Mountek...
Cheers

I've been using a Mountek for a few years, and one in my wife's car for her GPS for almost a year. Love them.

Of course if you're the type who constantly changes CDs that could be a problem. (But do people with phones really use CDs for music in the car any more?)

Mountek is one of those "why didn't I think of that" things. I can't say enough nice things about it. And my wife isn't easily impressed with tech (she's been in the technical field for decades), but she loves hers.

the guy at Mountek said the CD version may not be ideal for the Note 3, so found the ExoMount to appear to be as good, but maybe a bit better. Went ahead and ordered that one tonight and will have it shipped up here to the Toronto area hopefully to arrive in a couple of weeks to see how it is. Some reviews have this one slightly better quality than the Mountek but how knows. As long as it is sturdy, doesn't take away from my using the CD player all is good...anxious to see for myself, and shocked stores don't seem to carry these..

Let us know how it works out for you. I have also been looking for a holder that would mount to the dashboard. I am looking at ProClip, a little expensive but I like the way it mounts.

https://www.proclipusa.com/

I absolutely vouch for ProClip! Before, I was extremely skeptical about their products and thought that the install required taking the dash apart. Boy was I mis-lead.

ProClip (Brodit) base mounts are absolutely awesome. Even better, before buying multiple base mounts (like I did), look into extension pieces that can be purchased for much cheaper on ebay and/or amazon. There is an extension piece, that exists, that'll allow you to mount 2 different devices on a single base mount. That can eliminate from covering up too many areas of your car.

I've posted pics, in another part of the forum, of my proclip base mounts setup.

As for actual car mount for the Note 3, I initially was using my Kidigi car mount that I had for the Note 2. While it was a decent option, I eventually moved on to getting a Qi Wireless car mount. Best decision I've made. It has provided the "dock and go" option I've been looking for, ever since I got the Note 2.

But...for those that don't necessarily want a Wireless charging mount, I'm still willing to sell the kidigi mount. PM me if interested.

This is the qi wireless charging dock I got and I love it (use it in combination with the proclip base mount):
Car Wireless Charger Qi Transmitter Mount Holder for Nokia Lumia 920 LG Nexus 4 | eBay

Cheaper version of the Qi charger/dock
Black Qi Wireless Car Charger for Samsung S3 NOTE2 S4 NEXUS4 LUMIA920 820 HTC 8x | eBay

New, "minimal" versaion of the Qi charging car dock (there are different colors available)
Qi Wireless Car Charger Holder for LG Nexus HTC 820 LUMIA920 iPhone Sumsung BL | eBay

So, for all those that haven't set up wireless charging on their Note 3, all options still give you the capability of plugging in a microUSB 2.0 or 3.0, until you've either purchased a Qi wireless receiver or the OEM replacement back cover.

He was right.
It was great for my tiny iphone, but not very good for the large N3.
While physically it fits, it bounces all over in portrait mode and scares me so, I flip it into landscape mode, (even when I don't want to).

Mountek was great for the iphone, not adequate for the big N3.

I am looking for something different

had the unit delivered to me today, and first impressions are great!

The CD Mount is a breeze to install, can do it in seconds. It fits securely in my CD drive, and no issues at all playing music from the changer.

Even with the Flip Cover case for the Note 3 on, it snaps into place on the holder with just enough room. Case off would likely be a bit more snug perhaps.

It is a free standing unit, so if I want to I can move the phone up and down a bit, but no issues yet with it moving around, and I drive a Jeep with bumpy cold winter roads. Full 360 degree moving around of the unit secured as well.

I think ExoMount has a great product here for our phones, and even better no install on the dash is needed!
