I figured let's start a 2014 topic for this important day in electronics. What are you looking forward to today? What did you see that you would like to share with us?
Can we say s5?
Can we say s5?
It'll get its own Unpacked event I imagine.
Only thing I'm really interested in is seeing what Pebble announces. New hardware, software, app store?
Not a product, but after yesterdays news between AT&T and T-Mobile it will be interesting to see what T-Mobile has planned for CES next week.
Rumor is they will pay your ETF to switch.
Unfortunately that site isn't loading, it's trying to connect to CloudFlare, which I think is United States only. Just getting blank pages. Can someone post what it says please.
This is a desperate move by AT&T on the heels of what must have been a terrible Q4 and holiday for them. I'm flattered that we have made them so uncomfortable! We used AT&T's cash to build a far superior network and added Un-carrier moves to take tons of their customers - and now they want to bribe them back! Consumers won't be fooled...nothing has changed; customers will still feel the same old pain that AT&T is famous for. Just wait until CES to hear what pain points we are eliminating next. The competition is going to be toast!

Partial transcript from Legere, Pres. of T-Mo:
I thought 2013 was supposed to be the year of "No glasses 3D"?
Anyway, I'm guessing there'll be a lot of 4K and maybe some curved screens there this year.
Maybe more from Ubuntu/Firefox OS?
I wouldn't say 3D is dead, you can't buy a high-end tv without it.
As for 4K content, it's the old chicken and egg thing, though Sony is making some of their blu-ray discs 4K compatible and the price of the sets is coming down. I haven't watched any myself, so can't say how much of an improvement it is. The biggest problem I see with 4K is with streaming, as the files will be huge.

"virus-scan" "infected devices" ? I'm using a Mac. ...and I'm on a personal home connection, not a "misconfigured network". ...and that is NOT my IP address....I checked.. "221.118.51.6" is in Japan with a .jp ISP. ...very likely their network that's misconfiguredWhy do I have to complete a CAPTCHA?
Completing the CAPTCHA proves you are a human and gives you temporary access to the web property.
What can I do to prevent this in the future?
If you are on a personal connection, like at home, you can run an anti-virus scan on your device to make sure it is not infected with malware.
If you are at an office or shared network, you can ask the network administrator to run a scan across the network looking for misconfigured or infected devices.

I actually really like the padfone concept (never actually tried it out, but I'd like to)
