Hi there, since yesterday morning my device hasn't turned on at all. I plugged it in to charge and there was no signs that it was charging, the light didn't come on, the screen didn't come on, there were no vibrations or anything. I left it to charge for a while and came back and took the battery out and then put it back in and then it turned on. Then after about 10 minutes it shut off again and since then it hasn't turned on or done anything. I have held down the power button upwards of 30 seconds at a time, left it to charge, tried to get it into the download screen but as of right now its as if it is bricked. I went to the ATT store and they tried a second battery and that didn't help. It's out of warranty unfortunately so I cant send it in to Samsung for free so i've come here for advice.

Is this the Sudden Death Syndrome? Or is something else wrong? Thanks for any help.

Also, the model number is SGH-1747 and it was running stock 4.1.2 if that helps.

Man thats not good im afraid since youve tried switching the battery :(
Id buy a "USB Jig" and try that. If you dont know what it is, its a lil cheap thing you plug into the charging port and it forces the phone into download mode, from there you could reflash the operating system. Something is very wrong though since youre getting zero response so dont get your hopes up.
Wish i had some better advice for you.
Or maybe its a problem with the power button and not the software... no easy way to find that out though.
Good luck mate

Yeah I looked into that too, I just might try that because they arent too expensive. Id hoped it wasnt anything too serious but thanks so much in clarifying that it was only the international models that got the SDS.
