I got my SM-P601 two weeks ago, and it's been working perfectly until last night. At first it started out as a delay in the screen powering up after sleep, when I press the power button, you can hear that it has woken up but you don't see the screen until after about 2 seconds. After a while, the screen no longer powers up, you can hear all that sound when you wake it up, when you unlock it, and even launch games, you can hear all of it, and even the touchscreen is working, but you can see nothing, just plain black screen. I tried a factory reset using the button combination method and I think it worked (can't really tell), but nothing has changed.

Just wondering if you dropped it or anything. It appears that the LCD went out. Perhaps the LCD cable got dislodged.

BTW...how did you start a game if you can't see anything?

I've been told that the backlight has died or something, I will take it back to samsung and see if it's covered under warranty.

Well, I could open apps because I know where they are. :p

The same thing happened to me. I dropped it from a very short height (4-6 inches), but there was no sign of physical damage. It worked for a while, but then I noticed it was dim in one corner. I rebooted and the screen didn't work at all. I sent it back to Samsung for repair and got it back a few days ago free of charge.
