T-Mobile Will Buy Over $3 Billion In 700MHz Spectrum From Verizon For LTE Expansions

I don't believe it's certified by the FCC, but that doesn't mean the hardware doesn't support it. Its possible all it needs is re-certification and an OTA update.

The LG rep I spoke with before release told me it was designed for all carriers in mind, which leads me to believe it could be supported on the hardware side.

This is what I'm hoping. Just because it isn't listed in specs, doesn't mean it's not capable with a software update, at least in tech spec listings usually available to consumers. The lower frequency would give it better distance to/from towers (I understand that much at least!) which is why VZ has better coverage in many areas.

One more thing to consider...
Lower frequency= better building penetration, which is huge since most of T-mobiles markets are urban

Definitely... VZ is the only carrier that can get LTE into our building at work! Even though there's a T-Mobile tower half the distance away, compared to the nearest VZ tower.

Of course, I use my work phone (iPhone 5 on VZ, gets 2 bars of LTE at work) as a hotspot for my personal phone (no wireless network allowed) so it's not too big of a deal :D:smokingsomb:

While expansion of their network is always good news, I'm very concerned about the rumors in the blogosphere about Sprint buying them. Nothing would make me happier than to see T-Mobile remain independent as our fourth carrier.
This concerns me as well however I feel like the FTC won't let it happen. Also I still don't understand why a CDMA carrier would try to swallow up a GSM one.. the amount of work to migrate away seems like it would be immense but I'm not by any means an expert on that stuff.
