Yes you read that right (seems to be a combo of Friends and Family)

According to the screenshots over at s4gru, it seems much better than One up, but some of the images are a tiny bit fuzzy.) rest assure that with only 3 days left before it goes into full effect that we will be getting better images and plan details.

From what I've been reading the fine print, corp discounts are allowed. But what is not pointed out is if it resets the contract date since corp discounts have to be done separately and usually take a month or two to show up.

That may be possible, but I think this was Softbank sitting back and surveying the landscape and finally coming out with something that folks will like. Proof of this is the media is eating it up and actually praising it.

If one chooses to do the Unlimited add on then no, if one stays on the 1 GB or 3GB plan then I would assum they do what they currently do and send you a text, email that you are getting close and that charges will incur after passing your data limit.
I have on occasion pasted my limit on my hotspot (which may not be relevant to this issue) but it was never throttled but I did get a nice big juicy bill. Since then I increased it on the hotspot.

Speaking of hotspot, that will be another additional charge if you put that on the mobile phone. Which I think is better than carrying around one of those hotspots. (I might do that after my current hotspot contract expires)

It doesn't look like it. The review articles I've read say when you get 7 people for a $25 a month rate adding unlimited data is $45 total (plus tax) for your line - so it's just the extra $20.

The $10 premium data charge was for smartphones with "unlimited" data. mainly because smartphones usually make the user consumes more data consumption than regular phones. That I know of, it no longer applies separately to any new plans. Most new plans that have been introduced over the last six months include tiered data by default.

Bottom line Premium Data died with Unlimited My Way, unless you count non-smartphones and smartphones having different prices for unlimited. But on Framily there is no Premium Data charge that I can see.

Myself, I will have to do Framily with the extra Unlimited $20 add on (what used to be One Up).

The way this new plan is set up, Framily has no contract, and no subsidized upgrades. Any phone on any line must be either
1-on Easy Pay (Installment Billing),
2-paid at MSRP, (full manufacturers Retail Price) or
3-BYOD. Bring your own Sprint frequency capable device. (No Verizons, AT&T, T-Mobile)

This is on the 1GB and 3GB data selection.

With the additional $20 Unlimited selection, it comes with "Annual Upgrades" that come with the Unlimited Data addon are like Sprint One Up, where you give back your phone, wipe out the second half of the Installment Billing agreement, and start one anew. If you don't go with that package, your Easy Pay agreement must go for all 24 payments.

I called them today, you also have to be eligible for this, which I am not, you have to be under contract for more then 12 months if you got a new phone recently, then you can, or out of contract, then you can switch, since my Note II is 6 month old I have to wait another 6 months. Also needs to be on easy pay.

You should be able to bring a nexus 5, just not from Verizon (not compatible with Verizon network)

Lol... You spoke to the wrong lady. The Framily plan is on the sprint website and there is an interactive thermometer looking thing where if you pull it down to 5 people it states "35 per person"...if you include unlimited data for all 5 lines, it's $275 before tax

2 people in 1 Framily group = $50 that each person in the group pays
3 people in 1 Framily group = $45 that each person in the group pays
4 people in 1 Framily group = $40 that each person in the group pays
5 people in 1 Framily group = $35 that each person in the group pays <--you
6 people in 1 Framily group = $30 that each person in the group pays
7 people in 1 Framily group = $25 that each person in the group pays

If more than 7 people are in that Framily group then the amount stays at $25.

This does not count Unlimited Data it is for only the basic 1GB of data

For any person within that group that wants 3GB of data, then that person will pay (separately $10 more on top of the groups amount)
For example if there are 7 people the group amount is $25, the person(s) that wants unlimited will pay an additional $10, making their payment $35. Everyone else pays the $25,
the same principle goes for unlimited data, each person who wants unlimted data instead will pay an additional $20 on top of the amount they pay above.

so, using the amounts above, 5 lines will total $175.00
Each line will have 1GB of included data which are not shared or transferable among each other.
If you add the $10 3 GB data add on to each line the amount increases to $225
If you add the $20 unlimited add on to each line the total amount would be $275.

This is the weirdest plan I can think of and it seems that Sprint's strategy is to throw every strategy at the customer until something sticks. This may be a good plan for a business or an extended family with wife/husband, kids and grandparents all under one roof. I like that Sprint isn't afraid to try new things when the old isn't working, but really all they need to do is get their network in order and they will make money. All this changing plans, creating new plans, Oneup's, Framily, isn't going to work.

They don't have to all me on the same plan for example family 1 has 4 lines and the main person gets the bill for those lines, Family 2 has 3 lines of service, everyone line of service will be $25 dollars each if anyone wants unlimited data it will be an extra $20 bucks each. If you have a corporate discount you will get that off of the data only. Say family 1 doesn't pay there bill all family 1 phones will get disconnected, family 2 lines will still be on. If you get unlimited data you will be eligible for an upgrade every 12 months. The other catch is you have to be eligible for upgrade now, if not you can participate but you will have to pay additional $15 a month until you're eligible. The thing I like is if someone don't pay there bill it doesn't effect someone the other person. I say grab your friends and get into this plan before they change it.

I do believe some parts in that reps statement are incorrect.

Lets try to go though each part of that reps statement.

This is correct, a Framily can be any size from 1 through over 7, but if those 7 don't want to be on the same Framily plan then the benefits get reduce.

Incorrect, One person is authorized as the Framily ID holder which means they get notified of who joins or unjoins the group. Each member of the group gets the Framily ID number. Each person in that Framily group gets a separate bill and no one gets to see what the other bill is.

Incorrect, if this other Framily group only consists of 3 people, they will be paying
$45 (the Plan) + $20 (for unlimited add on) = $65

Do Note: The only way a member of the Framily group can pay the lesser amount of $25 is if there are 7 or more people in that one Framily group.

Darn...so, I just got off the phone with a Sprint rep and it seems like the new Framily plan wouldn't be as ideal for me as I thought. I thought pricing would be almost identical, but it's not. Even though it would change my calling to completely unlimited (rather than limited to 1500 minutes for landlines), I'll be sticking with what I currently have. They also confirmed that Framily plans would exclude folks from being able to get a subsidized phone discount.

The one thing that has thrown the new Framily plans out of the window, for me, is the fact that you can't combine accounts with other existing Sprint accounts (unless one person owns the other accounts). The new Framily plans would've been awesome if I brought in all of my relatives that are on Sprint, but since that's not possible, I guess I'll stick with the traditional upgrade methods I've been following.

Luckily, one of the three lines that I have on my account only requires a basic phone, so I'll have an additional upgrade available to me every year (at least, that's how it should work for me).

Just went to a corporate sprint store, because I keep getting different answers from different people. So right now I spend about $210 for 4 lines with 1500 minutes, unlimited data, and unlimited texts.

If I could get 7 people on my framily plan it would be 25+25+25+25+20+20+20+20= 180 Then you multiply that # by 0.11 for aproximate taxes, fees etc 180*0.11 = $198.00.

This looks a bit cheaper, but is it.

Whenever you buy a new phone, you will pay a down payment plus tax on the entire retail price of the device(which is about the same as the subsidized price), and then you will pay off the rest of the price of the device cut into 24 equal amounts.

So if you buy a Samsung Galaxy4 for $150 plus $60 bucks tax you are in at the beginning for $210. You still have $550 to pay off. Add $23 bucks a month for your new phone to your bill. Multiply this by 4 and you add $92 bucks a month to your bill. Most phones don't last me more than 2 years, and I really want to get a new one every year.

So my good deal of $198 a month jumps up to $290. To me the old Family plan is the best way to go. I'm wondering when they will force us to get rid of it. If they do I'll probably end up going to a more reliable carrier like Verizon, becuase price will be a wash.

Yes I know you are making payments over a 24-month period and that will be added on your bill but does Sprint have anything that would do a 20% off your total bill if you did this program? I tried to look it up on their site but couldn't find anything
