50 Posts per Page is Waaaaay too Many !!!!

Whom ever set up this board must be new to online forums.

Selecting "50 per page" is absolutely ridiculous !!!

Scrolling through 50 flipping posts per page looking for a particular post is nuts.

10-20 per page would be the norm, but 50 is just plain stupid IMO

How about an admin logging into the admin page, and spend 10 secs changing it to something more manageable, like 10 or 20 per page!

When I first joined it was set 10 (I think). On of the first things I did was change it to 50 myself. Same thing I do on all forums. I'm can't be sure on this issue, but I know most changes here don't happen in a vacuum, they are normally based on member preference and discussion. It's easy enough to change.

It's true. We're very new to online forums, and have no idea what we're doing. How this turned into such a huge, huge success is a mystery!

Ah to think of how great a shape we would be in if we were to annoy members by making them reload pages over and over to get to the next 10 or 20 posts, rather than just giving them 50, or even better - the option to change it to whatever they like.

Cuz, you know, we wouldn't then get ANY complaints or accusations of forcing clicks for ad revenue or anything else. Then, be told to "spend 10 seconds" changing a setting.

Heh, I tell ya, between this and your other very very level headed suggestion where we were also told to "spend a whole 1 minute" - it is a wonder to me how we've made it without seeking your advice first!

Or, you know, perhaps we're fully aware of what we could do in various time periods and have weighed the options and chose what we feel works best.



Thanks for the feedback! Again, I would recommend you be a little more reasonable in your demands.. perhaps think before you post.. so that you might get responses either more in your favor or at least more - discussion like - in your future endeavors. You should consider that there might be some chance things are the way they are for a reason.. rather than peoples inability to be as wise as you.

I feel weird having to suggest that to someone other than my teenager. But anyway..

You have no response for helpful suggestions or valid criticism.

You do seek out others giving opinions and snipe at them.

It's called trolling.

Perhaps that's a good way to fish, probably you discussed it on the fishing forum back when you became a vB expert.

But in this context, it's just silly and boring.


And I'm expecting you to complain about each option in the page we linked to up there.

And since you choose to ignore Phases and another mod to dazzle us with your display of a pithy remark, it's clear that there's nothing else to discuss on this subject.
