Sony Z1S Announced for TMo (Exclusive)

I see it.

The LG curve something coming to T-Mobile too.

I am waiting for Galaxy S5. I just hope HTC will be around.

Yeah, I saw the Curve announcement too......it's such a BIG phone. It I was going to go that route, I'd probably look at the GPE Z1 Ultra. I just don't get the whole phablet thing....my small mind I guess! :D

The Galaxy S5 rumors are interesting. I just don't like Samsung's skins, way too much stuff.

I think HTC will hang in there....rumors have been flying about an updated One called the One+ or sometimes the M8. I love this time of the year, CES followed shortly by MWC!

I will be looking forward to the Sony zed one ESS seriously tho the camera isn't the hotness from what I seen but clearly better than my Motorola.. (No need to ask which moto they are all bad) it looks similar to the Z( read exactly) but what gets my goat 3000 mAh battery that sounds like a solid day in my book.

I agree, the 3000 mAh battery spec was a good call by TMo. It seems like LTE eats more battery and and with higher quality displays you need more battery to make it through the day. At least that is what I learned from my VZW Galaxy Nexus! :p

From what I've read the camera software has been improved for this release, comes with 4.3 installed versus 4.2 on the (Z)ed 1.

Also doesn't have the IPS display. Not sure this matters, still 1080p, but I'll have to "see it in action." Seem like the frame of the phone was changed too. There seems to be some confusion about whether the Z1s has the aluminum frame or a plastic frame. Anyone know?

On my Nexus 4, with lte I found that with a consistent lte signal I get better battery life then without the lte hack.

nexus 4 running just hspa+ =not as good of battery
nexus 4 with solid lte signal = great battery life.

I think on the older phones (not to mention other networks implementation) trying to run all the radio's at the same time can/will decrease battery life.

Plastic sandwiched between glass can't wait to drop it

Plastic sandwiched between glass can't wait to drop it

Do you have a link that documents this? I'm curious, I've been trying to determine this. Either Cnet or Engadeget (I think) described it as "plasticy" but didn't state the frame was plastic. Not sure it matters, but, I like the idea of an aluminum frame.

That said and for what it is worth, a TMo rep told me they had a problem with the aluminum and glass staying together, seems the glue wasn't holding together when the phone got warm and some phones had the screen lift. I haven't read anywhere about this happening but it makes you wonder. I would think gluing glass and aluminum together might be tricky.

I saw this phone today at the store.

1. Those shiny plastic at the back. Yikes! Fingerprint & grease magnet!
2. The bezel at the bottom is just too much space. They could have put the buttons there OR even better fill with front speaker?

Sorry Sony! You just don't know how to invent phone! Perhaps stick to HDTV, camera, laptop and others things you good at. Sony ant good in tablet either.

Shiny glass lol yes it seems. like a misuse of real estate. Personally I enjoy its size and weight hope that I will be able to finance it around March. The screen is better than the Z but washes out, doesn't bother me.
