Help Help Needed : Swap Ram (Ace GT-S5830)

Hi guys, :ciao:
I need some help + guide here because I think I'm already stuck somewhere.

So, 1st things 1st
I want to make Ram swap through script.
Here I followed this thread : http://androidforums.com/boost-mobile-warp-all-things-root/610449-ram-swapping-without-swapper2.html

But then I got stuck with the init.d
I can't find it in system/etc.
So I followed another guide from this webpage : [MOD] Enable init.d scripts support on stock kernel - xda-developers

But still there's no init.d directory even though after I've flashed the zip file through recovery with success. I don't know where's the problem is. :hmmmm:

Btw my baseband is S5830DXKT4, kernel is root@dell144#1, stock rom 2.3.6,
buildnumber Gingerbread.DXKT5

So, if there's anyone here that know anything about this,
Please,I'd really need some help here.
Thank you.:help:

You should be glad that none of it worked, because if it had then its highly possible that instead of increasing your ram it would have bricked your phone.

You should pay more attention, you are referring two guides and none of them are actually made for this phone, one is for the ZTE Warp and the other is for Xperia Neo, they are not even samsung devices!

Please try and search very thoroughly before you attempt any procedure and make sure that its made for this device, if you are not sure then read the thread and find out if any other ace users have successfully used that and have given good reviews.

Here, try this-> [SCRIPT][KERNEL PATCHER] PSN MEMORY-MOD-v2 + Swapall-v3.0 - xda-developers

Since you are running a stock rom then you would need to get a custom kernel to enable init.d directory in your system. i'd suggest you go for a custom rom altogether, it comes with a custom kernel and a whole lot of customization which can improve your device's performance a lot.

xda-developers is a good place to start learning, its a much more active community, although after 3 years the ace community has gotten quite dull but its still running. You can get good android tutorials and guides over there. Google what you don't understand and then ask if you still have any problems, you will get your answers.

For basic problems you will have to search that site and find already answered questions because compared to here, its a bit less newbie friendly, people will ask you to search instead of answering and in a way they are right, most of the questions newbies ask have already been answered about a thousand times.

I've tried to search and understand all the steps but i'm confused. LOL :p

Sorry mate, can't help you there much since i don't use swap. It really eats away your sd card, plus you need a good class card to actually benefit from this, otherwise its just a waste of time.
You can ask your questions in those threads, you will get your answers there.

No worries :D People learn from experience..
LoL.. I've just hard bricked my phone for 1 wrong step in flashing rom..
But I've unbricked it using odin.. Am lucky enough to get in download mode..
Whew! What a relieve.. Now I'm gonna go at it again :p
Kinda hard to understand since my ace is DXKT5 and in the forum I'm not able to find a stable rom with my dev's stock yet..

What does DXKT5 has to do with the rom you want to flash? As long as the rom is made for your device and you like it, flash away!

U mean I can flash any rom thats for ace?
I've done flashing Blackhawk DXKT7 ^_^ Yaay!
For the first time i've achieved success in flashing..
now i'm thinking on flashing other roms..
but.. must i reflash stock rom back in order to flashing other roms?

DXKT5 is your baseband, it does not control what rom you flash, be it gingerbread or jellybean or even kitkat, as long as its made for S5830, you can flash it.
And NO you do not have to flash with odin and start all over again to flash another rom, just put it in your sd card, follow the instructions and flash the rom via recovery. Just a small hurdle, if you flash an ext based rom(most stock custom roms and all CM roms) then you cannot flash a stock(rfs based) rom over it, you will have to start over, i.e flash with odin, root, flash recovery and then flash rom. You can always flash ext over rfs though, just not the reverse.
Don't worry most custom roms are ext format, very few custom roms are rfs.
Whenever you get in trouble you can always flash via Odin and recover yourself as long as you can still have access to download mode.

As of what i know, Ace of Spade V3 is a CM rom, so why are you installing cf-root on that? That kernel is for stock roms, the CM already have a custom kernel, although it might not support overclocking but for that you have much better choices available. Plus this page says that this rom and its author has been banned, so as a user i would not use a rom whose creator has been banned.
[Updated 19-3-12][ROM] Ace-Of-Spades V3 [Guaranteed Performance+Battery] - xda-developers

Also the V3 version includes app2sd so if you are using this version then there is no need for adding dtapps2sd, also i'd suggest you use cronmod script(check my signature below for link) instead, much more efficient and no hassles of managing via app, does all the work in the background without the need of any user intervention.

where's the signature to cronmod? i cant see your signature..
this ace of spade has good interface and its kinda stable..
i wanted the cf-root kernel on it to enable swap ram..
i've managed to use it in blackhawk dxkt7 by dtapps2sd but in this one the apps2sd can't use ram swapping option..
btw i looove learning android.. it made me spend the whole day in front of this pc and never get bored searching for tweaks, scripts for android system..
are there any softwares to make roms? think i wanna try and learn much more on this.. :D

Sorry, sometimes this site does not print the signature under the post.
This is cronmod-> [SCRIPTS]CronMod-INT2EXT (updated 02/28) - xda-developers

Search in xda, there are hundreds of CM 7 based roms present, but a lot of people including me have shifted to CM 10.1/2 roms and are soon gonna get to CM 11 as soon as it gets a stable build.
Surf the xda-developers, its the best place to learn. All the roms you see or hear about here are originally built and released on xda, its kind of the primary android developing spot, this site is more for basic problems, at least for ace it is.

Everything from rooting to building your own roms and kernels can be found here.

Okay.. this ace of spade rom is all about theme launcher.. is there any other CM roms that doesnt use launcher for their roms? it would be great if this rom doesnt use launcher and integrate these graphics and themes into its system.. i dont really like extra unnecessary processes.. :)
btw thanks.. going to cronmod int2ext+, am gonna try now.. ;)

Without a launcher?? You cannot use a rom if it does not have a launcher!!
All you will have is a black screen with a status bar if you don't have a launcher, and you just can't do anything with your phone then.
If you don't like a launcher then you can change it, get the launcher of your choice from play store, you can even replace it with the in built launcher in the /system. Just make sure to paste the new launcher in there before removing the old one.

As for the animations and all, you can add themes, you are using a CM rom, there a loads of themes available for the theme chooser app, and these themes don't just mod the launcher, they mod just about everything.

My suggestions for launcher are ADW for CM7 and Holo for CM9+ roms.
As for themes, try cobalt series themes. I usually go for blue themes because i like the color plus they go good with the CM's original blue color.

Look in the xda's android development section for the ace community that i gave you the link for, there are loads of awesome looking roms, my last GB rom was apocalypse, but i think these days people are going with Ultimatum and similar roms.

Thanks there ayush.. but aren't custom launcher always overload your phone ram? what i meant is that i just want to use the stock rom's launcher but try to reedit the wallpapers and themes in there by ourself.. currently have to slow down my search on android since i need to learn few things about linux xfce with nxd booting.. i got 20 days left ! :(

Not necessarily, there are loads of options available, a lot of them are build with the objective of lightening up the the load on the ram. Try a few, the stock launcher is not really good, i haven't used it in years but of what i remember it used to be really slow and with barely any customization options.
