Got it. Lol...turns out it's just the stuff I wanted to be rid of ;)

Yep. It is a zip file with all the apps I removed. Some people might want something i took out, and this makes it easy to replace them. They have all been deodexed so they are single files that just need to be copied into /system/app and permissions changed.

Is it safe to do system updates? There are few updates to the factory reset stock setup. I figured it would be best at least to wait a couple of days after flashing rom before making that kind of change-- it seems like throwing new system software in on top of a new rom could make troubleshooting a nightmare.

iWireless Stock B18 ICS 4.0.4 doesn't seem to need any troubleshooting. Are updates likely to mess up anything?

Updaes will probably not work. They normally have checks for things you should have and you won't have them all. Sometimes they do checks for recovery as well.
id like to ask what program and operating system did you use to compile this ?
I used dsixda's Android Kitchen on Ubuntu 13.10

 Makes sense. The first time I rooted the Flash, everything was fine & then my su binary suddenly disappeared. I had updated around that time & somebody here told me the update probably was the cause. I didn't know it was an altogether bad idea tho

Usually best to return to full stock before updates.
oh i see i used the same program but in windows and bricked my other phone so i bought the same on -_- ubuntu is the safe one to use but i dont understand any of it and im hopping we can get up to kit kat on this device

This is just a stock rom, not built from source. KitKat needs to build from source unless zte releases kitkat which is highly unlikely.

can I take my phone from sprint to iWireless this way?

iWireless has an option that allows the user to transfer a Sprint phone from Sprint to iWireless. Not available to users of carriers other than Sprint. I haven't looked at the fine print-- not my situation. For details: Bring your own device

I asked about updates above & (among other things) you said:

Should I have updated after doing factory reset & before flashing rom, or is it best to leave the stock as-is? I'm assuming the latter because you built the rom on the stock. Also I lost root once after an update. The more I write, the more it seems like a bad idea to update at all (unless Jelly Bean is magically available). Guess I'll post anyway, just to see what you have to say
:p

Just to be clear, are you asking about iWireless/ZTE updates to your device? If so, you should still get OTA (over-the-air) Update notifications. If you get one, you may have trouble updating because there are frequently checks in the update script that make sure you are running a full stock rom. You are not on full stock rom. In order to get the OTA to work, you will probably need to return your device to full stock. The only way to do that is to flash an unmodified stock rom to your device or restore a backup of full stock that you made in CWM recovery before flashing the deodexed rom. I will make a full stock rom for you to make this process easier. Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of iWireless stock recovery which you likely need to get the updates. We need someone with stock everything to grab it before flashing CWM recovery. I have a copy of the Sprint ZTE Flash stock recovery and it might be exactly the same, but i won't know until i get the iWireless one to compare and then it wouldn't matter because I would have the one you need lol.

I just wondered if it's possible to do update after restoring to stock & then reflash with current rom. Clearly not!

It's not important enough to make it worth your effort to make a new one!!! Might have tried it if I could return to this rom. As much as anything, I was just curious since you said updating is a bad idea after flashing a custom rom whether reverting to stock, updating & then reflashing this one was workable ;)

If there are system updates available, you should try to get them and i will make a new rom after the update with all the updates included. If you update and then flash what you are on now, you will lose all the updates. Of course after you update, I would need you to grab the files like you did last time.
