How do I sync with Outlook and Google Calendar ?

Hi
My first posting as I am new to Android and the Desire. Must say everything great so far and synchronised with my PC Outlook 2002 first go. Pity it won't do notes as my Apple Ipod touch did.

I now use my Desire as the master diary entry and control as set up in the options. As my Outlook 2002 is now aged I thought I might transfer to Google calendars where I have an account. But when I open the Tools in Synchronisation I only have the Outlook option.

Can anyone advise how I sync with Google Calendars as then in effect I am using the Desire as the transfer medium from Outlook to Google without the hazards of import/export

At the home screen select menu>settings>accounts & sync and make sure your Google account is in there. Then within calendar ensure both Google and Outlook (pc sync) are ticked in the calendars option.

Hopefully that works, that's how it works with lotus notes

Yes, all those are and were set but doesn't synchronise the google calendar

I use the calendar sync app to sync outlook > google which then appears on the phone.

I think this only works with Outlook 2003 onwards. I have Outlook 2002 so I would have to buy a new copy.

However have made some progress. Another thread advised possibly disabling automatic time update and try again. I did this but also fiddled with a few menus and then got synchronisation with Google calendar. But this was for only newly entered items and not the items loaded from the previous PC sync Outlook 2002.

I also notice when entering new appointments in the diary there is a drop down menu at the top where you can select My Diary, PC Sync or Googlemail account (ie Google Calendar). So that's the answer, you can't do both Outlook and Google calendar togethor.

I will stick with Outlook 2002 (PC Sync) for now as it also contains my historic appointments.
