Hello Ladies & Gentlemen. I am brand new to my Galaxy Tab 3. I haven't used it at all yet. This will be my first Android device. Needless to say, I am very excited about it. This forum looks like a very nice community. I look forward to receiving some advice and help. I am excited to post my first question. Thanks!!

I already have a question, because I do not want to accidentally post my request for help in the wrong forum. I need help rooting my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1.

However this forum for rooting my device is pretty much empty and dead, Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 - All Things Root - Android Forums

Is there someone who can help me with why the instructions I followed on a tutorial site failed?

Hello BearWithGun. Welcome to Android Forums. I agree that the information for rooting your tablet is a bit on the sparse side. You should start a thread in that area asking for assistance. Perhaps someone can help you but has not posted there. If that falls short of the help you seek. You might next try the general tablet discussion area found here:
-- General Tablet Talk - Android Forums
Perhaps you will find some root support there.
Last but not least... we do have a general Android discussion area. You will want to try it last and be certain to convey that you've exhausted the other possible avenues.
Here is a link to that area: Android Lounge - Android Forums
Best of luck to you in your quest. Thanks for joining and using these forums.

Thank you Olbriar, I was just afraid of posting somewhere where I was not supposed to. I will do as you say. Thank you for the welcome and for the help.

You are kind to be concerned. The problem will not be with you but our staff lol.
We are quick to move root threads to their proper area. That is where the best support is normally found. However in your case... there isn't a lot of root information in your device root area. If your thread is moved.. it's supposed to be helpful to you but we don't always choose correctly.. our bad. We want you to find the information you are after.. that's the bottom line.

Dear Olbriar. It seems like I figured out the problem by myself, I followed the instructions on that tutorial page, and the second time it worked. Maybe that tutorial link that I posted in that thread will help someone else as well.
