Creating contacts with Nexus 5

Hi folks

I am new to the smartphone thing so apologies in advance

(I have no contacts as my other phone was so old I couldnt import ) I have N5 and I want to create a contact from both an unknown call / message

I get a message / call and I can't see / find a way to create a contact


Any ideas?

its actually simple. i hope you are familiar with your phone and using hangout for messages.

* when you get a message >open hangout>tap on the message>on top left, tap on the small triangle under sender's number>tap add to people>at the bottom it should say create new contact.
* when you get a call>tap on the blue receiver bottom left>tap the clock bottom left for recent history>tap the number>in the middle tap add to contacts>at bottom create new contact.

If you are going to add a lot of contacts, it's easiest to log into your gmail account from a computer and add them there, they will be synchronized to your phone the next time you run account sync.

Generally Google account is set to sync automatically, so add a contact to GMail/Contacts - look in your phone and it's there seconds later.

This also means that when you get your next Android phone and sign in to this Google account your phone will automatically pick up all of your contacts.

do i need to set up email details along with tel number in gmail for it to be created as contact on my phone? or is there another way to create a contact?

as you can see im new to the google thing
