Greetings,

I'm coming over from the LG Motion 4G. I've had the Motion for about 2 years, maybe a little more, and it finally died on me today. It starting acting weird, force closing everything, boot looping, the whole 9 yards. It's been dropped maybe up to 10 times over the 2 years but not hard drops, but I guess the soft drop yesterday might of did it in. I was going to try to flash it but now it won't even turn on after trying everything, so I took out my SIM, and SD Card and beat the hell out of it outside :D

Upon investigation, I see the Alcatel ONE TOUCH Fierce is currently only $29 after MIB and is the ONLY phone besides the high priced phones that have more than 1.2GB of internal storage available to the user. That's what I loved most about the Motion. The Motion had around 4.5GB of internal storage available to the user and that is why I'm going to miss it so much.

I'm excited to get my new phone even though I never really hard of Alcatel, and I'm sure I'll notice cons as it's a downgrade from a LG. I just wanted to stop in, and introduce myself to the new section of my phone career. Please feel free to let me know what you like and dislike about this new phone so I have an idea of what to expect. I already read the camera isn't the best but that isn't too big of a deal on a $29 phone. :)

Thanks!

It's a definitely an upgrade from motion spec wise. The phone works with 64 GB micro SD card which you can use as your internal storage just by going in setting and storage. The phone will probably not get much development due to locked boot loader but I'm curious what makes you say its a downgrade. Did you see the specs yes I know Mediatek is not the best but their quad core CPU are better than most dual core CPUs. The only two things I don't like is lack of LTE and autofocus but this phones uses T mobiles network which is pretty fast and better coverage especially compared to old phones like the motion. There is a lot of things to say about this phone did I mention it supports otg which was a big surprise. And as of Alcatel their phones are really popular in Europe and Asia not so much in America considering this and the evolve are the first 2 phones from Alcatel to be officially released in US.

I'm curious what makes you say its a downgrade.

Motion had a 1.2Ghz processor that actually was 1.5Ghz after root but stayed 1.5Ghz even if you unrooted which was a weird perk but if definitely was a true 1.5Ghz without OC'ing.

4.5GB of internal storage beats 2GB. I never seen a phone give you the option to use the SD card as internal ( as in, automatically install apps to the SD Card ) If this is a true toggle feature, awesome!

I heard this phone wasn't the best when it came to processing speed but I'm still curious to see how it performs in my eyes as I don't game much, and it will be for normal everyday use.

I really wish the camera was better and had AF The camera is probably one of the biggest cons. The Motion was able to record 1080P while this can only do up to 720P which isn't that big a of a deal. Although, from this test video on YT. It honestly doesn't seem that bad at all. A little fuzzy at times, but not too bad. I'm also happy it at least has a LED flash.

I wasn't aware that this phone wasn't LTE. What 4G speeds can I expect to see on this phone? I was recently down in FL with the Motion, and these are the speeds I received from a NJ server.

I already ordered a case for it, the same case I used for the Motion but for the Fierce. Great case for the money.

Also, might get one of these when the first one gets played out.

Don't forget this is a quad core CPU it is more comparable to a dual core 1.6 GHz.

The internal storage is not a disadvantage considering you can use a sdcard the as main storage lg phones cannot without some tweaking. A 64 GB card is more than enough.

Jellybean 4.2.2 is a plus, bigger screen, the battery and HSPA t mobile network I get average 4.4 MB download speed where I live a lot better coverage than then phones that came out before the merge. And performance wise its really snappy on the lg motion when you played games like vice city the game would lag on highest setting here and there. This phone doesn't have that problem it can play San Andreas on highest setting. The only real downside is the camera and no LTE.

Cool, thanks for the reply. I'm usually on WIFI most of the time so I think the no LTE isn't going to affect me too much, and I'm sure 4mb down is decent enough when on the go. I'm sure using TMs towers is going to produce better performance than Metros towers. I guess I'll see everything as a whole in a couple days when the phone comes. I'm sure for $29, you can't complain too much. I'll see what phone my future holds in another year or so.

Hey guys imo the camera and LTE is not as bad as you may think, I'm going to put a link showing how autofocus is not needed all the time and about the LTE speed, it all depend where you leave and the area you are at the moment. Here are some of my speed tests which you can see that they vary but that's from different areas from Orlando. Notice too that at one point the 4G was close to my home internet.

And here is a link that can help when taking pics without autofocus.

Thanks for this :) , I'm purchasing mine now. Neon green and black, it looks to be much better than the cases they sell for the phone at metro.

No problem man! I always buy my cases on ebay. I always shoot for a hybrid type of case as they are actually pretty good. The phone will feel very solid inside in this case. I've used the same kind made for the Motion for a long time. I would order a new color combo every so often. I should receive mine in a few days. I also went ahead and ordered the other one too to put away to switch it out when I'm ready.
