Hello,

I am currently rocking the first Razr Maxx, and am on the verge of upgrading. I am leaning towards the Note 3, but I did like the Razr and I am a little concerned about the size of the Note. I would love some input from some Note owners.

Thanks everyone,

Rocky

When I bought my Note 2, the first time the guy at the store set it down on the counter, I said wow that thing is huge! I've had the N2 for nearly a year now and have seriously not though twice about the size since maybe the second day. It just seems like a normal phone. If size is your only concern, personally, I wouldn't worry about. After a few days you will wonder how others manage with little screens. :)

I agree with Keegen. When I first got the Note 3 I thought "What a huge phone" and I had those thoughts for about a week now it just seems like a normal phone to me. Other people make comments about how big it is but it just seems normal to me. I think it will for anybody once you get used to it. If size is your only concern then I'd say get it. The size issue diminishes and it is a GREAT phone!

I'll tell you what I really miss from DROID maxx. It automatically Drew a red line under spelling errors in emails etc. This feature is absent in the Note 3. Very important in my job to avoid spelling errors but I use too much technical jargon to use auto spell check.

I had the Razr Maxx HD as my last phone. I had it for a whole year and really liked it. It was (and is) a great phone. I still have it as my backup phone.

Now, listen very carefully... RUN to your nearest dealer and get a Note 3. The Note 3 blows away the Razr Maxx HD (and therefore totally blows away the plain old Razr Maxx) in EVERY category.

I'm not kidding. Not even a little bit. Oh, and as for size, I noticed it was larger than my RMHD for about 10 minutes. Now, when I pull out my RMHD, it seems like a pathetic little iPhone in size!

Do it.

Do you think the same is true for the new Droid Razr Maxx?

I use it in my car.. GPS.. just use some plain car mount.

there is one issue..i can not seem to get fixed.
using map app...
the compass... is messed up! it spins.
tried to calibrate it with other apps.
as I drive down the road.. my car can be doing 60mph backwards!

it is fine when in navigation mode.
I think the software.. forces the car to face forward down the road.

Rockdog,

I upgraded from the RAZR MAXX (original) to the Note 3 in December. I really dig this phone (an understatement). I will admit that when I first looked at it, I was apprehensive concerning the size. However, after just a few days that issue became a non-issue. I wear dockers or slacks almost everywhere and very seldom wear jeans out... because of this, I have zero issues with the size. If I wore jeans a lot, it might color my perspective (I cannot stand using a holster). I always keep my phone in my front right pocket.

I find that I now do things with the Note 3 that I seldom did with my MAXX. I use it often for web searches and the like. I seldom watched Netflix on my MAXX. However, the screen on the Note 3 is amazing for watching video.

One thing I do miss about the MAXX is the battery life... the MAXX was unrivaled. I hope that once I get the Note 3 dialed-in, I can get closer to the battery life that I have been spoiled with.

IMHO... you will not regret making the change.

Bigger, brighter screen on note 3 and a much faster processor means older maxx phones will always have better battery life.

I find I am getting easily just as much battery life from my GN3 as I did from my RMHD. I used both almost exactly the same amount - meaning a LOT. I reboot daily which helps with battery life but did the same with the RMHD. I go all day with both, calls, texting, social medial, streaming music to Bluetooth for hours and still usually have 25% battery life when I get home after a 16-hour day.
