Maxx Price Drop

Let me know if you see the off-contract price drop. I bought it with my United Mileage credit card and they'll give me the difference if the price drops within 120 days of purchase.

If it's Best Buy, I wouldn't bother. Their off contract price for most top tier phones is in the $700 range. They'd have to come down a TON to compete with other places off contract.

I have been buying mine full price to retain unlimited data. In December I paid $499 for the Droid Maxx from Verizon. Two weeks later they dropped it to $449 for only a week or so. I went back to the store and they gave me a $50 credit. That sure beats the $649 I paid for the Maxx HD a year ago. :)

I've had many Motos over the years and this is the best yet.

I bought in December too but never saw that drop. Do you have an ad or something you can refer me to so I can see if credit card will give me refund of difference.

Something told me to check the VZW website every few days around Christmas. That's when I saw the price drop. I thought I took a screen
shot, but I just checked my phone and don't have it. I may have it on
my Nexus at home and I'll try to remember to look tonight.

Other than their website, it wasn't advertised unless I missed it.

Sorry about that.

Google is awesome. (That is not one of those "Let me Google that for you" snide comments. I searched for "verizon droid maxx price cut", tapped "search tools", set the date range to 12/1/2013 to 12/31/2013, and this was the first result.)

doogald you're smarter than me today. Of course I am supposed to be working. Ha. I was trying to remember if I screen shot and you did the easy way. Thanks.

There you go NewArtDroid, hopefully you can get 50 back. I don't really see the Maxx going lower than $449 before it's off the market.

I got in on the first Droid Maxx price cut last October. Originally it was $650, and a week after I bought it they dropped the off contract price $150 to $500. I posted on here to let everyone know
http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid-maxx/783943-all-droids-receiving-price-cut.html

Members who tried to get in on it had varying results, anywhere from they had to redeem it in a 14 day window, 30 day window, or having no luck at all. It really does depend who you talk to at Verizon.

While another $50 cheaper would've been nice, the initial $150 was better. But all I know is, if you're going to buy off contract, steer clear of Best Buy. They usually tack on another $100-150 on top of what Verizon charges. The same thing happens at other places as well, like third party authorized retailers, Walmart, and RadioShack.

I went with Verizon over Motorola mostly for support, being able to get another phone sent to me, and having the option to send it in to Motorola for repair. With Motorola, you can only send it in, and it can take weeks to get it back.

I check Verizon's website a few times a week. As of today Verizon lists the full price of the Maxx at $399!!! I know some don't buy at full price, but those like me who do, this is an excellent price. I jumped for joy in December when I got it for $449.

I have always bought my equipment at my local corporate Verizon store. (Not the mall setups.) They have always given me the price as listed on their website. I am a "grandfather" keeping my unlimited data. :)

This is a super great deal for anyone who wants the Maxx at full price.

Does Verizon usually chase the competitor sales? I looked up Amazon and BB yesterday and found $99....not to mention the $50 GC from BB...I wonder if that encouraged the price drop.

As far as I know Verizon doesn't match prices. I pointed out the off contract price of $399 as I don't buy on contract anymore. I have unlimited data that I want to keep and their data plan prices now are outrageous.

I think most people use AT LEAST 2MB of data per month. Figure the monthly cost on a two-year contract and it's a lot cheaper to pay full price if you still have unlimited.

I'm a medium to occasionally heavy user, and use anywhere from 100-500 mb a month. I do agree with you that the average user could use that much, but I suppose I'm blessed with wifi wherever I go. My apartment, on campus, and my work all have wifi, and I travel at most 4 miles to get to any of those. I suppose a lot of people tether though, or listen to music in the car for more than a few miles.

Just to reiterate, I do agree with you, but I keep wifi on and hook up whenever I can, which keeps my data low, and keeps my battery lasting longer. I'm eligible for an upgrade on Wednesday, and will be jumping off my parent's plan and losing my unlimited data. But it should be ok for me, and Verizon's new single-line $60 monthly for talk/text/1gb data sounds appealing.

I don't know what's up with Verizon. I posted here last week that the full price of the Maxx dropped to $399 as listed on their website. I checked this morning and it's up to $599!

It seems that this model will be coming to an end soon so I find that strange. Perhaps they sold so many at $399 they bumped it back up. I love mine but I wouldn't pay $599 for it now.

Well, I thought that the sale was only until the 17th, so I'm surprised that the price is back up now.

I'm not so sure that it's coming to an end all that soon. We'll see what Motorola announces coming up, but my thought is that we'll see new Droids and the Moto X update sometime this summer.

Best price on a droid maxx is from comcast with two rebates. You get the droid maxx for $99 and get a $150 visa in 6 weeks. And also $100 from mototradeup.

Initial out of pocket
$99 plus tax and upgrade fee =$136.92

Then buy a moto Admiral on eBay for $15 and get $100 account credit at Verizon.

Then receive $150 visa.

136.92 + 15 - 100 - 150 = free phone and $98.08 in credits!

Also you could just skip comcast, and get the maxx for $99 - $50 buying online plus $30 upgrade fee for $83.99. Take trade up in store and break even!

Thanks for the money saving deals. Will be doing the Moto Tradeup and the Verizon trade in.
I almost feel like I owe you some money for the tips. Thx again.
My Maxx will arrive either Wed or Thurs. Not sure if they will ship on Monday as it's Pres. Day.
Thx again.
