Hi all.

Hope someone can help out, as not being able to save my own selected homepage.

Tablet: GT90X. Android 4.2.2. Firmware Version 2.

I am using 2 browsers, built in and Firefox. When ever I select them, they both open to annoying commercial websites one for Payday loans and the Get Rich quick. I have tried - through settings/other and typed in the address that I want to set as my home page and tried it out and worked, went to another site and selected back to my homepage and the annoying sites came back. I then tried typing int eh address I wanted, selected settings, selected Current Page, tried the same thing again and got the same results - back to the annoying sites. I've checked for a Save button, but there isn't one.

What is going on?

Thanks.

It almost sound to me like you have some sort of malware that is setting your home pages for you. Neither of those sound like "stock" browser home pages. There are some apps on the market that will look for ad push type apps and identify them for you. If you have an app that is causing this, you probably don't want it on your device. Here is a link to one my office mate used and says works, I haven't ever used one so I had to depend on him to give me an idea. It is called Easy Ad Cleaner.

Thanks for the link, but that only detected my AVG and 2xBattery.

It has been suggested on another forum, that I back-up my apps and reset to Factory Settings. Reluctant to do that , unless someone can confirm that I won't be backing up the problem too!

Thanks.

Update: Got fed up with messing about, so did a factory reset and things turned out much as I expected after reading another article on this subject.

After resetting, I tried the built in browser, I was immediately taken to llc.cc - llc Resources and Information. This website is for sale! and was unable to get shot of it, no matter what I did. It has been suggested that this was entered at the build stage and have no way of deleting this site.

Another thing I tried, was to connect to my PC via USB. When I turned the tablet on, my PC froze. I had to do a power supply switch of and reboot. I tried this several times and got the same result.

So, looks like this tablet is going into the junk box while I look for a better quality, named product. That's if I bother with a tablet again. Shall be giving a 'glowing' report to Amazon!
