My Results with Qualcomm Snapdragon BatteryGuru

Been running with BatteryGuru for a few weeks now and am getting very excellent results. I'm definitely not a heavy duty phone user, but for my use getting at least 2 1/2 days of battery life is great!

Here's what the battery stats were this morning:

I tried battery guru and I actually lost instead of gained.
It accounted for 4to7 percent of my battery. I tried it for a month.

59 minutes and 36 seconds of screen time.

I also just let the app do it's thing. I didn't go turning off any settings during the period it was learning my usage. That was probably the hardest part because I wanted to!

I also left the phone alone while it was learning, meaning I didn't turn off WiFi or Syncing or anything, just used my phone like I normally do. Also I only have 2 accounts that sync, one is e-mail, and the other is the Google stuff. No Twitter or Facebook to eat at the battery.

Before using Guru at the end of the day I was around 60% when I got home. Now I'm in the high 70%s.

For the past two or three months, my Galaxy SIII has been getting horrendous battery life. Off the charger at 8 or 9 am, and by 3 or 4 pm, my battery warning would be coming on, saying less than 30% left, and I would have to charge it by 6 or 7 to keep it from shutting down. I work out of my house, and don't use the phone a lot. I started using Batteryguru about two weeks ago, and after a few days, it seemed to analyze my phone well. I am now getting battery left of 70+% at 4 or 5 pm, and my use hasn't changed. I too have been skeptical about battery apps, but this one seems to really work.

Time on battery 11h23m20s and battery guru says a remaining battery time of 20 hours.

Is your screen set to auto or the min setting?

Biggest app drain shows as Chrome at 4%.There are 4 others, but all show 1%.

I'm using BatteryGuru on my Note 3 & Nexus 5.

Both have performed very well with this app. First I waited for it to learn each phone then I used it without fine tuning it. Battery gains were approx 20% on average.

Then I took advantage of the granular controls it offers. Now in most use cases I get up to twice the battery life prior to installing BatteryGuru

That said, the key to success is lots of patience and willingness to learn how to fine tune this useful app.

Time on battery 11h23m20s and battery guru says a remaining battery time of 20 hours.

Is your screen set to auto or the min setting?

Biggest app drain shows as Chrome at 4%.There are 4 others, but all show 1%.

My screen is set for Auto.

If you mean the displayed percentage (24% vs 12%), its because hes had his phone running for 2+ days, and yours has been going for less than half. His radios (and everything else that goes into background battery drain) have been going for 4 times as long, so they eat up substantially more

The percent battery used isnt really all that helpful or important, as its just a ratio compared to everything else.

I just manage the phone manually and can get a day or two out of it easily. I'm in the mid range to heavy usage wise too.

I have such a long screen on time I don't see it doing much, but it just started actually doing it's thing like within the past 12 hours so I'll give it time.

That's a great solution for those of us that don't mind doing so.

Give it a week or so for a fair evaluation.

I use a combo of BatteryGuru and my own manual adjustments. It's fun for me since I'm always looking at ways to improve performance.

A good one is turning off vibrate for the keyboard/home buttons.

That's gained me 10% over a day.

I noticed a modest improvement with Battery Guru, but it only seemed to be improved standby time. I charge my phone nightly, so being at 60% vs 50% with light usage isn't a big deal. There was some worry about delayed notifications, though I could have customized the settings per app, but I just uninstalled it instead. It would be nice if there were noticeable improvement with heavy usage

I wonder if the runtime makes a difference. I'm on ART and batteryguru really screwed with my battery life. Are the people noticing improvements on Dalvik?

Truth! I suppose I expected a deeper level of optimization since it's coming from Qualcomm and it's specific to this CPU.
