Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I bought a Moto X on release day and still love it. Kitkat update did something to the battery life but still getting close to 3 hours screen on time and 16+ hours of normal usage. Heavy usage gets that down to around 8 hours.

Great size
Great build quality
Good battery life (actually great for a phone with this size screen and compact build)
Great screen quality
Servicable camera quality (don't expect anything more than Facebook quality snaps)

The touchless controls are incredibly useful, especially when used in combination with Moto Assist app that detects when driving.

Overall, just a really good phone that does everything I need it to.

Do you use that "shake to turn on" camera feature

I'm constantly missing shots with my 4-5 clicks to get to the camera on mine.

Last week it was a Bugatti.

Only the second sighting out in the wild.

I use that feature regularly. The only time I get to camera through the camera app icon is when I'm already messing with my phone. 90% of the time I use the gesture to activate it. Takes about a week to get used to the motion, but once you do, you get probably 95% success rate of launching with the gesture.

Oh, forgot to mention, my wife has a Moto X as well and loves it. Uses gestures and voice controls as much as I do and she's real finnicky with technology. If it doesn't work well, she gets frustrated. I on the other hand will put up with bugs

I'm not a Motorola fan, so it's no big deal to me personally. But what possible ramifications of this are you afraid of?

I've been very partial to Moto phones because they are first and foremost phones with very reliable call quality. And battery life. It's why I test drove the GN but couldn't pull the trigger due to call drops and echo and one-way calls. Moto phones rarely have those problems. And the build is solid, with no plastic. So putting Moto in the hands of Lenovo, which has zero history with mobile phones, concerns me about quality of future devices.

Obviously they are going for a young lex. Look wise? Gene Hackman didn't look like Lex. Kevin Spacey had the bald look and I liked him cast as Lex but that Superman man just wasn't that good. I think Jesse can talk the part but how he'll play out will have to wait till trailers start showing which I'd bet won't be until late next year?

Interesting choice for Lex. I was really hoping the rumors of Bryan Cranston being cast were true. He would make a great Lex, and looks the part in his Heizenberg getup.

I was really disappointed in the Super Bowl this year. I was pulling for Denver to win, but I didn't much care as long as the game itself was good. The game was a train-wreck from the first snap.

And the commercials kind of fell flat this year. The baby/time machine one didn't really make me laugh. The Clydesdales and puppy was the best, but not funny. More heart-strings pulling.

The party I went to was fun, the food was great, but the game sucked.
