Root [International] call record

right heres my situation.i need call record option for my work.ive recently updated (huge mistake) to kit kit 4.4 on my n9005 note 3.ive asked via xda (yes im rooted on foxhound rom) but all developers are either to arrogant to admit they are unable to fix this issue or they are just plain ignorant as im a junior member lol.so my questions.is this glitch a bug in the new firmware?is it deliberate?and will it be possible to fix? as if not ill need to get a new phone.thanks guys

cant believe as a senior member you didnt know that dude

Ouch. Before you get all arrogant, please remember that most of us are still running 4.3 since we haven't had an official 4.4 release in our areas yet. You're literally treading new ground here, and unfortunately part of being a trailblazer is sometimes getting stuck because you jumped without looking.

I'd suggest asking around on XDA, nicely, for some help. Potentially even reaching out to some recording app developers and asking if you could help them debug/test their app on 4.4. Just don't be a jerk to them, otherwise no one will help you.

At AF, we're all on the same level. We're all equals, and thats what works for us. "Junior" or "Senior" doesn't designate anything other than a post count... and thats it.

The trap you fall into when you only look at member status (on any forum), is there are people who are very knowledgeable about technical aspects.... but hardly post, and there are people that post all the time and just aren't that technical about rooting. In each of those scenarios you'd be making incorrect assumptions.

We welcome all kinds here, technical or not. This is a site about the love of android. :). It doesn't matter if you've been using it for 4 years or 4 minutes, your opinion isn’t treated any differently.

Welcome to AF :D

yes but thats a trial version. it expires on the 15th. i know the developer.if you download the older full version which is on googleplay and change the device settings to lg nexus 5 then it will work on the n9005 running kit kat.the 1.5.3 alpha 5 version should be released by the 15th but the developer is having trouble getting the app to work on all devices, its a pricey app but is the best of its kind.rooted devices only

Now that I know we're dealing with a 3rd party app I can see what the problem could be.

Rooted or stock 3rd party app developers go where the money is. As of the first week of January kitkat is on less than 1.4 percent of Android devices. As i see it the economic incentive for all 3rd party app developers to update all apps right away to kitkat simply isn't there.

The same type of thing but less severe happened when Jellybean 4.3 was released but with Jellybean being a popular established platform on over 60 percent of Android devices even I can see the opportunity to enhance their user base and make more money was there. Patience is the key to this problem.

Unfortunately the distribution numbers are misleading.

"Jellybean" 4.3 was lumped together with 4.1-4.3. So while the headline was 60% of android users on jellybean, most were still way back on 4.1, which was already a full year old by the time 4.3 rolled out.

If you take a closer look you'll see the adoption for 4.3 was just as low as 4.4, and there were app incompatibilities when 4.3 was new as well.

4.1 is still 36% of the market

good point.but without the abilitiy to 2 way call record in the android programme script anymore.i cant see how a normal unrooted 3rd party call record app could worki i can see how it would work with root access however.i think the key is to wait for the next update which will give us an idea as to whether this was an oversight on androids part or whether they are trying to abolish call record
