Yesterday my galaxy s3 randomly switched off and ive been unable to get it working again. i've tried taking the battery out, leaving it and putting it back in, nothing. ive tried doing the factory reset thing where you hold home volume up and power then let go of power when it begins to load, but still i cannot get past the loading screen, it just stays like that until i take the battery out again. I have now tried connecting it to kies but it cannot connect my phone.

Ive also tried holding home, power and volume down until the 'downloading, do not turn off target' screen appears then tried connecting to kies and again nothing happens. HELPPPPPP

Welcome to the community.
Have you definitely gave it a good charge?
To factory reset, hold in power , home, volume up until the Samsung screen. This should take you to recovery mode.
There, use the volume buttons to scroll down to factory reset then use home button to select it.
Then ho up to "reboot"
This will wipe everything so its a last resort.
Good luck

Just to clarify, I had issues getting into the recovery. I would hold the buttons, and release when I saw Samsung, and it would still fully load into the phone. You have to press and hold them down when you're on the Samsung Galaxy S3 logo screen, and not the first screen that just says Samsung.

Always works for me mate. Yeah hold them longer just to be sure

I held them for over 10 seconds, and it would stay at the first Samsung screen until you release, and then once you release it would go to the Samsung Galaxy S3 screen, and unless you pressed them again, it would still load the phone. Maybe mine is slightly different since it's Metro, duno. MetroPCS is always tweaking stuff on their phones.
