Root Need help

So I recently found out that our phone isn't the exhibit 4g totally different models. Now can anyone help me on this forum ? I am really starting to dislike the forms for phones such as this. I bought this phone instead of others thinking hey this is a good phone I an really disappointed with this. Are there any ROMs or Recovery's that work on sgh-t599n ???? Please help

i know. i did the same thing. there are two recoveries. this one seems to be the best you will have to flash it in Odin.

Lol um which one ? No links buddy also I have windows but for some reason my system isn't detecting it due to mtp issues I have drivers installed but still no luck haven't tried download mode but my Ubuntu detects it with adb installed thank you for the help. As for the ROMs if I can get to know the phone and a little more on ROMs I can help the community out not advance enough for no porting of cm,aosp but I can make some good mods.

That would be cool. some fresh roms for this phone. You could try looking over at xda forums they seem to have a start on getting roms for the phone although the deodexed version of our rom wont install because its in a form of a UPDATE.

have you rooted yet? if not, please do me a favor if you dont mind. before you do any flashing to your phone after you get rooted install terminal emulator and do a system and boot image dump and get them to me. i want to try to see if that will help get the deodexed rom flashable. i didnt do it and the first time i flashed a recovery my phone went in to a boot loop and i had to install the prerooted rom. i think this is why i cant get it to flash after deodexing.

okay i did read i had to install stock recovery and install this and everything to get it working. what are the steps required for this to work ? i am kinda anal about it cause its my only decent phone. but if it makes my little baby run better i will make sure to make a decent rom for it. the reason why this is so hard for me is cause the s3 mini and the t599x versions of this gots me twisted s2(aka epic 4g touch) had me fed up to lol

i am not sure what you are asking. Im not sure what you mean by installing stock recovery and install this. what is "this"? are are you referring to my link of the philz recovery?

I've read in xda that installinf phillz repack will cause a recovery loop. And to fix it I would have to Odin stock recovery and then phillz recovery. Am I correct or wrong ?,

yes you are correct. the way to get around it though is to just not use any apps to reboot into recovery. you will need to do it with the buttons.

Okay so I am able to flash recoverys I used the one you mentioned but no luck all I get is a recovery loop boot and I see what everyone was talking about as far as the loop goes I am able to wait for the phone to power off and then just press power on and it works tada!!!! But as far as getting a recovery im sol now I cant get into philz recovery or the on unjust made and the only stock img I have is a freaking zip file :/ just my luck buddy anyway im happy.I got to correct drivers and Odin to flash and mod this phone once I get a good recovery ill start the genocide mod woot

I have noticed that if i flash the preroot and reboot and let it stay on for a few minutes then turn it off and go in to download mode and flash the recovery it wont boot loop.

I have seen em but I didn't want to mess up my already installed is I have a lot of programs and such on here I did manage to.you the backup nandroid from market and made a cwm 6 back up of my room with all the original boot recoverys and everything couldn't I just tar my old recovery imagen and flash with Odin? I could use a premeta script from philz or unjust or just use the one from stock zip. What I like to know is who makes a stock recovery for zip and not Odin? Talk about not covering your asses. Anyway I'll see what I can do about making a safe way for flashing. Not having a recovery is a little scary for me what if my phone goes blah. I'll try your method of preroot and see what happens but I will make another back up.

about that. I thought the deodex rom was working but it didnt. after about 10 minutes all my apps started force closing and my phone went in a boot loop. I am not sure why they didnt make a flashable recovery either. i would rather have that than an odin flash.

Hmm will to be honest using a PC to get out of trouble is a whole lot better than an on device app. Honestly my e4gt was in shackles it took a lot of recofigs of heimdel to get it working. Good news I have recovery its hard to underatand why it takes so long to get in recovery but I used an app to get in it I even have SD mount and with download mode I no longer have it just loops to the battery icon so I am not sure what to do at this point

ok so after carefully thinking why my download wasnt working it takes a good min for it to load same with recovery hints after the logos it will run. so now i have the touch philz 5 and download mode. thanks to all who helped me get this working there wasnt aboot loop after the very first vibrate let go and wait if done correctly it should load.

now for the juicy shit i found a tar imaged stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2210846&d=1377364150 at this link i havent tried it cause i didnt need to flash.
