Root Stock Restore

Some people seem to be breaking their phones as of late and were not able to find the files i posted before this device got root, so im going to make them into a thread.

These files were leaked to me by a metropcs employee and are pre-release software. they function just fine, the issue is you cant update from it so you are quite literally stuck forever on it if you flash it. good news is your phone will be booting and working again though.

Instructions:

1) Download those two files
2) Ensure you have the samsung drivers installed
3) Extract the odin zip
4) Right click on odin and choose run as administrator
5) Put your device into download mode (im terribly sorry but i dont recall how exactly on this phone, i believe its vol down + power while it boots then vol up to confirm)
6) Once you have the "downloading" screen connect the phone
7) Ensure your device's drivers install and a COM number appear in the box
8) Click on PDA and select the CR820_FF02.tar
9) Click start

It will take a while but you will eventually be all set and back to booting, as i said this is prelaunch firmware so you may have issues/bugs, you may not.

Thanks a bunch for the files! I've recently flashed, however... the phone has a serious lag..

Do you think it would be a good idea to re-flash the phone in the case that the os has a 'death lag'? When I say a serious lag, the phone takes a legit 10 mins to actually turn on, won't respond directly to touches, takes it 2-3 mins to realize the input, etc....

do a factory reset, sounds like your device has too many apps running. youll lose contacts/apps/games/texts etc, but it may fix that issue for you.

keep in mind this phoen will never be lag free, it was old outdated crappy phone when it was released, adding on time isnt gunna help it any :/

Already tried that, I did that before I put it on the first time... this is interesting.. i have only seen this happen on custom roms............ never on the original..

Hi I have the SCH-R820. i accidentally changed the chmod on the /system folder. this has made it so i can not shell, su, adb, fastboot. it only shows samsung logo then goes to recovery. ive changed a lot about the os so i think its why i could not factory reset. i tried using the pda .tar file of yours. which was the only one i could find online lol. but i get a 'SBL verification failed' tried every odin and have latest samsung drivers 1.5.27. i opened the .tar file and winrar said it was corrupt and only extracted a fraction of it. so i was thinking maybe this is the problem. do you have the md5 checksum? i got 01d1636fe6dd88a1f9aab4ed7b0b48c6.

also is this all i need to fully restore the phone assuming that maybe all the file system is corrupt...

Change the ".com" to ".info" and the files will begin to download

On what broswer are you loading mega on ? i have a windows computer but google chrome and firefox when loading mega still say temporary error retrying i tried on an apple computer and still chrome says temporary error ' can you try downloading the almost stock schr820 file and then send it to me somehow ?
