Root Leaked bb v1.0 OC'd at 1GHz running faster than droid incredible?

Does it make any difference that the Incredible was on 3G while the Droid was on WiFi in the first video? Wouldn't the Incredible be at a disadvantage?

Until the Incredible root/ROM development community gets up and running, I still think the Droid is the best Android phone to own at the time and you couldn't pay me to trade in my Droid for an Incredible (well, yes you could but it would have to be a decent amount of money).

He says both "are running off wifi."

I think it allows like 760MB for apps or something like that. The Snapdragon has already been overclocked for other phones that use it like the N1 and they couldn't go any higher then 1.13Ghz IIRC.

The HTC is awesome and I if I didnt have my droid I would definitely look into getting it. That being said, i still love the support the doid gets thanks to you guys.

Wow, that's pretty damn impressive (the app storage). But like I said, a stock Incredible is just not incredible enough to garner wandering eyes from me. Once the root/ROM development community gets up and running, I'm sure it will be a really amazing phone.

Now, a stock EVO 4G...that's a different story.

Any idea what weather app he was running on the Droid? looked almost exactly like Sense, is it the old Beautiful Widgets?

You have to get the Weather & Toggle Widgets app, go into settings, go into the "Clock skin downloader", and install the h7c skin. Once you've downloaded the skin, you can go back into settings and install the downloaded skin by choosing the "Install clock skin from SD card" option.

I went into the Verizon store today to play with the Incredible, and compare it to my Droid clocked at 1GHz.

I would have to say, it is pretty fast, and I did a lot to stress it. Had 7 homescreens loaded up with a live wallpaper in the background, and it still transitioned as smoothly as my Droid running HelixLauncher1 with 5 screens.

I did take a look at the signal strength, and I placed my Droid down right beside it. It was -81dBm on my Droid vs. -86dBm on the Inc, so slightly worse reception. I made a couple of calls to *611 and the sound quality was comparable to the Droid.

I'll say, in terms of CPU processing power, I think the two are evenly matched (@ 1GHz). The Incredible rendered pages very smoothly in the browser, but so does the Droid.

The biggest, absolute advantage the Incredible has is RAM. It just has soooo much, that there is never a hiccup when multitasking. The demo unit had a whole bunch of apps loaded, and I opened up ATK to find that almost every app I had tried was still loaded in memory (~15-20), and there was still 54 MB free.

The RAM definitely accounts for the speed advantage the Inc has over even an overclocked Droid.

As for the screen, it looked nice from afar, but if you bring it closer to your face, you can definitely tell that it isn't 'true' 800x480.

We got the girlie her first Android phone today, and I must say, that Incredible is one impressive phone. What you've heard is true, it's snappy as all hell. I'm OCed to 1.2GHz and it's got us by a hair. But what does make me somewhat envious is that camera. Def has a leg up on the Droid. And then it has an FM radio. Why don't we have that again? And I really like that Today in History widget. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before someone ports that to the Droid, though.

I've read that 2.2 "enables FM radio".. so we may just get that yet.

And FINALLY I've read what I have been waiting to hear.. and have figured all along-available RAM. Clock speed is clock speed. So it is no surprise to me that the Inc. and Droid are "evenly matched" with the Droid clocked at 1G. I really doubt whatever overhead cache either CPU has is going to make that much of a difference..these are not PCs running windows with 60-70 tasks going at once:rolleyes:. It's just like popping an extra RAM stick in a PC.. a sudden noticeable speed increase.

The comparison we need is between an Inc. and Droid@1G+the Droid running most of its apps on the SD card, keeping the internal RAM free.

While I don't want to take anything away from the Incredible...it looks nice...I don't know where all the Droid love went. The Moto Droid is one of the most successful phones ever and really put android on the map (just 7 months ago). I just feel like people have been talking about the Droid like it is 5 years old and I'm trying to reassure my droid that she is still the shit...but she's sensitive to all the chatter :D

All I ever seem to read on here is people talking about how they are looking to switch to something new...the Nexus...then the Incredible. I must be missing something. I understand the talk about the next gen of snapdragon processors, 4G speeds, and 4.0" or larger screens cause those are "real" upgrades to the Droid.

The point to my rambling is this: If you are eligible for an upgrade...sure, check out the Incredible. If you are a Droid owner...wait for the "wow" upgrades later in 2010 or early 2011.
